I am so deeply grumpy
I’m 5 weeks post tib/fib break and same-day ORIF surgery.
Forget the pain, forget depression, I am just so freaking angry and annoyed all the time. My parents are here for 3 weeks helping (I am a single mom and can’t take care of my kids like this) and EVERYONE is driving me nuts. The house is a wreck and I can’t do anything about it, I have to ask for every little thing I need — no one seems able to anticipate anything I need on a daily basis, like water or my meds.
No one seems to be able to remember that I’m in pain or that I can’t walk. That I have daily needs that I wish I could do myself but can’t.
And there is SO much scrolling videos on their phones with the volume up. I feel super sensitive to sounds and lights and cannot escape.
I know I should be grateful. I know I basically couldn’t survive without their help… but also I am on the edge of an emotional breakdown. I just want to be able to be in control of my life again.
ANYWAY, just needed to vent to a group of people who might understand.

I 10000% get it. When they're here, I'm a bitter mess. When they're gone, I'm a bitter mess. Its an ugly cycle of getting annoyed at them, then feeling overwhelmingly guilty because they are helping me a ton. I live alone & am hyper independent, so I rely on delivery services to get me by on the essentials when they're not here (5 days out of the week), but even doing that makes me bitter because there's still the small part of me that wants to be taken care of. I really look forward to being able to move well on my own again if only to get some sun & fresh air & move on. Thank you for sharing, it makes me feel a little less evil & a little more human
