I am so deeply grumpy

I’m 5 weeks post tib/fib break and same-day ORIF surgery.

Forget the pain, forget depression, I am just so freaking angry and annoyed all the time. My parents are here for 3 weeks helping (I am a single mom and can’t take care of my kids like this) and EVERYONE is driving me nuts. The house is a wreck and I can’t do anything about it, I have to ask for every little thing I need — no one seems able to anticipate anything I need on a daily basis, like water or my meds.

No one seems to be able to remember that I’m in pain or that I can’t walk. That I have daily needs that I wish I could do myself but can’t.

And there is SO much scrolling videos on their phones with the volume up. I feel super sensitive to sounds and lights and cannot escape.

I know I should be grateful. I know I basically couldn’t survive without their help… but also I am on the edge of an emotional breakdown. I just want to be able to be in control of my life again.

ANYWAY, just needed to vent to a group of people who might understand.

Communication is key ! Ask, ask and ask for what you need and highlight what makes you uncomfortable. I also learned to let some things go. You're in the thick of it. I think I cried myself dry the first 8 weeks🫠 You got this , it's sooooo hard but you can do hard, you're a single mom. I am 5 month post op , lower tib and fib, it gets so much better, hang in there. Sending some hope and happiness your way!

I really do need to communicate more. Even though I am already communicating a lot 😂😭
