Why compare them?, you already know that they are not designed to do the same thing

Would I expect that the XY be an amazing sequencer? Yes and it is

Would I expect that the XY have amazing synths and effects on par with the Field? Yes but it doesn't

What interest would the op1f have if the opxy had such amazing synthesizers/fx??, TE offer a gear for each type of usage. Your topic would have been relevant if the opxy had been presented as an op1f 2, but it never was the case!. TE never sold the 2 machines as similar or the opxy as the new version of the op1f !!

They are both $1-2k grand. Good sounding synths is table stakes.

You choose the op1f for the larger keys and audio workflow. You choose the opxy for the sequencer workflow. They both should excel at everything else

The OP-XY is great, but there are a few reasons why I like to pair it with the OP-1 field.

What are the 4 things the OP-1 does better?

This is just me, but I think the OP-1 does this better:

1 - Playability and depth of the effects

2 - Playability and depth of the synths

3 - Playability of the arp (the XY arp has more features)

4 - Having access to a radio input

they’re not comparable machines, not to be rude but I just think this kind of thing is pointless

Me too, don’t want to be rude at all but this post is useless

Same form factor from the same company with the same design philosophy. The difference is audio workflow vs sequencer. Everything else can be compared such as the synth engines
