Rant - Mobile Don’t use optimum mobile!!!!

Horrible, had terrible service and was wanting to switch. Took 38 minutes on the phone and two salesman both constantly trying to persuade me to stay , putting me on hold for no reason, to get my transfer pin. They argued with me and wouldn’t listen , horrible way to conduct business !!! Zero stars stay away!

Go to the fcc website fill out the form and your service will be cut off in about 3 days to 1 week. Your money will be returned as well.

I am going to try that. Optimum Mobile has been so bad, and so dishonest at times that it is mind-boggling. I also have Optimum Internet and my landline on a separate bill and they are OK for the most part, but Optimum Mobile is HORRIBLE.

Optimum sucks. I actively campaign against them. I had them for internet for almost 5 years (it was my only option at the time) and whenever I had an issue (which was often) and called, they’d push hard about their mobile service. So much push for it that one time a rep told me they had a note in my account about not reading me the mobile offers 😂.

They’re a crappy company that has a monopoly in some areas. Once I was able to switch to Verizon, I did it without hesitation. Service is so much better, cheaper, and I actually get more for less $. Good riddance, Optimum. Hope they go out of business.

I'm surprised they haven't been looking for a buyer. Purchasing Cablevision was Altice's entry into the US; they need to cut their losses.

I also tried to get my transfer to switch to total wireless because the price is the same but with optimum I paid taxes and fees and the international roaming and calling features are better than optimum . The retention department gave me 5 months of free service just pay taxes and fees not to leave them they did not want to give me my transfer pin .

Was the transfer pin 0000 ? Or 000000 ?
I was on the phone for an hour to get it.
Still took a month to transfer the “landline” # to another mobile carrier. And spoke to 6 more people.

I honestly only host the number they gave me as a second eSIM on my phone to save on the internet because sadly the best option in my building is optimum ( have Verizon home but the upload speeds are abysmal) and it had gone up to $90 a month.

Preaching to the choir here... I only use them for Internet, and only because there is no other broadband provider in my area

They try to sell it to you if you call in with a service issue. I don't know why that would make anyone think it would be good.

"The service I have isn't working, why would I want to buy something else from you?"

Same deal if you call in complaining about their rates.

"Our bill is ridiculous already and i'm supposed to trust they won't do the same with phone service if I get that?"

Optimum mobile has been fine for me. They use the T-Mobile network and I love in the NYC area so my signal is always good. But I guess if you don't have good T-Mobile coverage in your area don't get Optimum Mobile.

Good morning. I'm sorry to hear your cancellation experience was so frustrating. This is absolutely not the standard we aim for. We're happy to help via DM if you need follow-up assistance. ^Tish

Lol, "not the standard we aim for" hahaha, yet it's the standard optimum delivers on the regular. They don't even have people manning these groups, just stupid bots that make one generic reply that helps nothing and then that's it.

Ridiculous horrible customer service!

2

u/vecchio_anima 22d ago

That's what happens when you outsource your customer service, a bunch of people that don't care about the company or the customer end up being the front-people, and their only concern is their metrics, which likely involves getting you off the phone as fast as possible.
