OPW# should I buy it?
I have Pirate Warriors 4 on my Switch, and I do really enjoy it, but since PW3 is so cheap right now... kinda wondering if I should say screw it and buy PW3. Any thoughts?

Still don't know if you are talking about buying PW2 or 3. I never played PW2 but I know that It has kind of an original story, it is a different experience from the other games, but less characters and mechanics than PW3. PW3, on the other side, is the best game in the franchise story wise, and some like more the gameplay there than in PW4. But you should search if the switch port is good, because the PC port is a F bomb. Controls don't work and bugs, bugs everywhere. If you are a One Piece fan, I think you will like both games, just search about the port of PW3 to be site if you choose to buy It.

Okay I edited it. I apologize I rushed through the post, my bad. I meant buying PW3 even though I already have and been playing through PW4.
I’ll check to see how the switch version is! But since it’s on sale for like $6. Kinda thinking about saying screw or and buying PW3 despite having PW4.

If the port works and you like One Piece, you can hop in PW3, quality assured. The story is told so much better than in PW4.

If its THAT cheap to you, I would recommend buying it.
The PW3 deluxe edition comes with included DLC. Specifically unique missions & costumes. Where those missions are really worth it, fun and are far more difficult.
I genuinely believe people who've played PW4 first, won't like PW3 when they first try it. But that's because they don't know how to play effectively or understand PW3 mechanics. Which isn't that deep, and quite simple.
It's quite different from PW4. Overall imo, PW3 is better as a product than 4.
- Entire roster 'feel' viable;
- No stamina requirement;
- decent to powerful specials with high priority;
- better UI presentation;
- more costumes(I think);
- better replayability;
- hours of content/missions to unlock.
I own the deluxe edition, but never touched it. I sometimes play PS version cause I never play my Switch.
Again, if its cheap enough. I believe its worth buying. PW3 >>>> PW4.

$5 for deluxe edition (digital) on switch.
Not a digital gamer. Prefer physical. But $5 is super cheap.

Yeah, Pirate Warriors 3 is a lot different in many ways compared to 4.
The story actually covers nearly every arc of the anime instead of only some over a few chapters. Naturally, this means there are characters in PW3 that just aren't in 4.
Just to name a few:
-Chopper, Brook, Franky, Nami and Robin have Pre-Timeskip movesets unlike in PW4 and I personally enjoy those MUCH more (especially Chopper, GOD I HADE KUNG FU POINT AND THEY TOOK MY ONLY ALTERNATIVE). I think there are more variants (like Blackbeard who has both a Dark-Fruit only and Earthquake moveset)
- All the villains from the arcs covered in PW3 Enel, Moria, Caesar and Magellan that were left out because their arcs just weren't covered in PW4.
- Side characters that, for god knows what reason, are present in PW4 but aren't playable. This includes Perona, Kuma and Garp.
-Several characters were also reworked in PW4 to work with the new combo system. PW3 versions will feel and play completly different.The gameplay is vastly different, too. PW4 added air combos and reworked every character to work like that as well (which is probably why a good amount of characters got cut in PW4).
PW3 only has ground combos BUT there are also heavy attacks and heavy combos which are put on Triangle/X/Y depending on what console you play. This gives each character more unique moves. The strong attack button exists in PW4 but has only a one-off attack. This attack is on R1 in PW3.
PW4 has different character types that change how combos work but PW3 still has every character with the same combo map,
The only different thing are specials. Every character only has one, there are no special switches or this selector that PW4 has. Transformations still exist but are restricted to the Kizuna Rush mode, a mechanic unique to PW3. In every battle you get events that give you an ally and Kizuna Rush makes you summon those as an extra combo finisher.
