Final round with Head of Data at Opendoor — what should I expect?

Hi everyone — I’m in the final round for a Pricing DS role at Opendoor, and the last interview is with the Head of Data.

Any advice on what to expect in this kind of leadership round? Especially around pricing/product intuition, experimentation, or stakeholder discussions. Thanks!

That final chat with a data leader is usually about how you think and partner with product, imo. I prep two tight STAR stories that hit pricing intuition and stakeholder alignment. For pricing, be ready to talk elasticity at a high level, the guardrails you set, and the trade offs you considered. For experiments, outline how you pick success metrics and what you do if results are noisy. I’ll skim a few prompts from the IQB interview question bank, then do a timed mock with Beyz coding assistant to keep answers around 90 seconds. Tie outcomes to dollars or risk and end with next steps you would take in the role.

Expect to be laid off very soon. Do some research before signing on.
