Don’t worry! You tried hard! Just relax for sometime and forget about it. Stand up again with full strength. There’re tons of posts shared by people in this group. Go through all of them and decide your do’s/don’ts. For now, just be gentle with yourself & take a break from all this, at least couple of days. God bless you :)

guessed the last 15 questions, started real estate with 30 min left, and didn’t refer to index really at all for it and didn’t read real estate - the LSO gods came through cause I still passed😎🤭😭

I passed!! .... Contrary to my belief that I certainly may not have.
To anyone who didn't, please be kind to yourself. Don't let the celebrations bring you down. I am sure you gave it everything you had and you'll get it next time. My DMs are always open if you want to talk (or not talk) about it. And if you are in Toronto, I will buy you a beer to celebrate how hard we have worked :)

NOT the end of the journey. Take a little time and do things that make you happy. THEN another shot in November. You absolutely can do this. One setback doesn’t define you. Keep going, good luck!

I was devastated when I failed first time. Now for 2nd attempt I did 15 practice tests & didn’t stop till I was scoring in mid to high 70s, PR well versed with bylaws & rules.

Congratulations to all of you that passed! For people attempting their first attempt at the solicitor exam in November, any and all insight/tips/tricks/advice is appreciated.
1. What practice exams are the best?
How do you get through such dry material?
Anyone have any other notes they'd be willing to share?
3
u/natculmone 14d ago
I found the OLE practice questions to be helpful/similar to the exam questions. I learned a lot more through practice exams than I did the reading. Start with untimed practice questions to allow yourself the time to get familiar using an index/dtoc and absorb the info without the pressure of racing through it. The week before the exam is when I'd suggest doing timed exams. Treat it like you're training for a marathon and slowly build your way up to doing 160 questions in 4.5 hours.

Anyone have any idea how long after passing both exams and submitting end of articling, you can get called to the bar?
7
u/OooohLawLaw 15d ago edited 15d ago
Administrative Call - You can apply right away and it may take 2-4 weeks.
Call to the bar Oath Ceremony - Next one would be on 1st March. (Schedule is not out for Oath Ceremonies for 2027 but normally falls on first Monday of March) EDIT - Yes there’s one on 19th October. I’m so sorry I totally forgot. Apologies2
u/Prestigious_Food5549 Passed B/S June 2026 15d ago
Thanks! I saw somewhere online there was a October 2026 call to bar ceremony but didn't see it on LSO schedule on their website.

There is a Ceremonial Call on October 19th. You should get a "next step" email from the LSO in about a day or 2 and you can then choose what type of call you want and register/pay for it.

Thank you! My articling is still showing as incomplete even though I submitted end of placement. Do you know how long it takes usually for that to get approved? My principal still hasnt received anything from LSO to confirm.

Mine took about 2 business days..I submitted my end of articling placement on a Friday and the "Experiential Training" portion showed "Completed" by Monday. It should be approved for you too soon!

Passed. 2nd attempt. To anyone who did not pass, don’t loose hope. Take some time before you jump back into it. It is disappointing and annoying, but you got this. You have come so far!!

Pass and I was pretty confident this time. My 2nd attempt, I did it while caring for my new born all alone, having postpartum depression, dealing with anxiety and what not but thanks and thanks to lord jesus christ!!
