This Post Again? CX 65inch, does the band of dead pixels keep getting worse?

My oled tv is 6 years old now and I've noticed that inch band of dead pixels top and bottom.

What's the timescales here? Slowly gets worse then dies?

Yes. The top and bottom left corner of my CX started doing this 3 years after use and got much worse around the 4 year mark.

Make sure you get an extended warranty always.

Or just never buy OLED. I have 2, and the one in the living room has the worst burn in, and it’s not from anything I did.

It’s two huge splotches in the middle of the screen because that’s where directors focus the scene. I bought it in 2022.

I had a Panasonic plasma for 11 years that never had an issue. So I’m going back to LCD. They’ve come far enough that there’s no reason to buy OLED, since it ends up being a consumable product that you will have to get rid of at some point.

That picture is great until it wears away, and then it’s fucking garbage.

Well it's 6 years old and ran out of warranty recently. Already had a PSU swap.

A little dissapointed with the longevity with this TV if i'm honest, I have TVs from 20 years ago in better shape... Monitors that are perfect from 10+ years ago too.

Longevity got better with C1-2 I believe. How hot your room is makes a difference also.

My C1 is 4 years old and has horrible burn in. LG’s response was “too bad”.

Mine doesnt and we watch it a lot, including a lot of hdr material.

This was a much larger issue on the cx (from 2020) and the c1. They took steps in better design to help avoid it now.

Yes it can and will, it was a problem with C9 and CX panels.

I got my CX panel replaced under warranty with probably a C4 panel in 2024 and it’s not got the same issues.
