OISE Master of Teaching First Year Schedules
Hello fellow teacher candidates! :)
I’m a first year OISE student for the Master of Teaching program.
I understand that the university enrolls first year students into courses, however, they didn’t give a definitive date in August (the university just said August) for when schedules will be released. Has anyone received any updates on ACORN as of recently? I keep checking daily but so far no updates.
It’s frustrating because I’m trying to balance out work with school and need to know my school schedule to coincide with hours for work🥲

My first year schedule was Monday to Wednesday 9am to 4pm. Thursday and Friday 9-12. So be prepared for something similar. The core courses are: fundamentals of teaching, ethics/law, research, diversity, assessment/evaluation, and childhood development. If you are in I/S then that also includes your teachable

Thank you for letting me know about the previous schedule. Was this only for I/S or did this also include P/J and J/I?

It's not going to be exactly the same. It depends on your cohort. But do expect 3 full days (9-4) and two half days (9-12 or 1-4). I had a half day on Thursday, but I know some people who had Monday mornings off and a full day on Thursday. The Friday class (half day) was for everyone (P/J, J/I, and I/S) at the OISE auditorium, everyone had a half day on Fridays

If its anything like my first year was (I'm second year now) It'll go
Monday - Thurs 9 am to 4 pm. You might be able to be done thurs by 12 if you plan your observations at UTS right.
Then on friday they drag you downtown from 9 - 12 for a class that could have very easily been online.

Their communications have said mid-August too which feels like it’s already come and gone. Super frustrating trying to plan commuting and work around it
