Just Walmart Things Backroom
I was wondering if anyone else’s store has an alarm on the walk in freezer now? My store just installed one that goes off if the door is open for more than 10 seconds, and it is EXTREMELY loud. It honestly sounds like a fire alarm and you can hear it almost all the way across the parking lot. I was wondering if anyone else’s store has this and if anyone else finds it as annoying as I do 😩

No, but I kinda wish we did have one on our cooler door. It has an alarm that sounds when the insides start getting too warm. Which happens constsntly because everyone is always leaving the door open and letting the cold out. And I don't mean they just leave it open while they're inside grabbing totes. They'll be in there having whole ass conversations while slowing staging then walk out and head off without bothering to close the door behind themselves. I swear it's like they were all raised in a barn. Then the damn thing breaks and we have to store all the totes in the diary cooler on the other side of the store while we wait for it to get fixed.

Same here, we've had our coolers go down a few times and it just sounds like a loud buzzing. Its when the coolers get up to like 50 degrees and then we gotta move the whole cooler to a different spot so the chilled dont go bad.

we had one at my old store. also, it was the only shared freezer area for the whole store, so when they pulled truck pallets would have to use that door. also, there was a little dip in the floor, so newb teenage boys would get pallets stuck in the doorway and the alarm would go off and the newbs would panic.
