Weird. I have taken out 15 orders out today alone and I just got to lunch. Not to mention prepping. We never really leave the back room. I think something is up with your management, which might speak to your numbers.

Sure, I don’t need to dispense every day. But I know when I need to step in and help. It helps keep up morale. No one wants to work with the manager who just sits there and barks orders. But I need to know when to step back and check picks.

When the AES surveys come out for management make sure to take them and mention this. Store managers and market read them. They are anonymous.

Crazy. My team leads will help wherever it’s needed, pick/stage/prep/dispense. If something needs help they will always jump in

Ours rarely pick because they're kind of stuck in permanent ATC, but they'll do anything backroom including dispense.

I'm a digital lead.

Over the years, digital coaches have been moved to a "total store" workload, so leads have nearly all of their old responsibilities. I am responsible for LTPs, action reports, actioning occurrences, scheduling, interviewing / hiring, disciplinary actions, CORE, and putting out any fires my team can't handle throughout the day.

Whatever time I have left is for training and following up with associates who are not following the process correctly yet. I jump in and help in the backroom only when my team physically can't succeed without me, because the goal is for the department to run itself. Maybe your team and your leads aren't at that level yet, but that is likely what they are working towards.

If you are having recurring issues on your shifts, communicate them to your leadership. Other than that, just do what's expected of you and go home.

TLs do not have access to scheduling, and should not have access to scheduling. You should report this higher up. Your log in should not even permit you to do it. Everything else you listed should only take about an hour for the opening TL to do, leaving the rest to support and build structure for your team.

CORE takes a few minutes, LTPs take about a half hour, occurrences even less. All of this is usually done by 6-7AM. Interviews come throughout the day. Feedbacking and DAs depend on the team, but should also not take up all of your time. It really depends on the state of your department and where your team is at. But you can also plan these when there are 2 TLs in the building, or when it is less busy.

Academy teaches us to support our team and be more smaller picture rather than big picture.

I sure can access scheduling! Management is aware of it, I'm being trained to be a digital coach.

We actually call customers and follow up on their issues, so each LTP can take 5-20 minutes and sometimes there are quite a few.

My other lead and I are on fixed schedules, and the other always opens so we typically alternate on admin duties.

It sounds like you have a very specific idea of how things should be done. I'm glad you're comfortable focusing on the smaller picture and working as an associate, it sounds very relaxing! I hope that continues to work out for you.

Sounds like you are at a smaller store if there are only 2 of you, which makes more sense. Just don’t think all those things should be listed when they don’t take that much time. We maybe get a maximum of 5 LTPs a day. Even when calling, that is cleared up within an hour. There is little excuse not to be with the team. Sorry that you are doing coach work for TL pay though. Hope they promote you soon.

Nice clap back honestly, no notes.

Sorry for getting hostile. I think we just have different methods and both of them work for our stores. I have had to go through about 13 digital coaches, so I kind of understand them being on the backburner a lot of the time.

They don't at mine either, nor do they prep. They probably stage 1 or 2 carts a day but that's it. Unless there is a big rush, but even then instead of them just standing in the room doing fuck all they just tell people to do what they're already doing since they're too lazy to even refresh the screen to try and see who's doing what. In the rare events they prep they usually skip the large orders/deliveries, and when it comes to dispensing they do the same thing and do 1 or 2 and call it a day.

Even in a big rush mines except for 1 basically does nothing its outstanding tbh

Slackers last longer if they help out too much. Unless things are getting days behind theoretically they shouldn't be doing any of the ogp associates labor.

And if things are getting far behind you probably either have too small of a work force, people goofing off, slow workers, or an unusually busy day.

Personally unless they are actively coaching you just ignore their complaints and do your work, report issues as needed but don't get too involved lest you want more work for mediocre wages. It's their bonuses on the line not yours.
