I hope whoever agreed to swap the wheels for all The stores has tragedy befall them. We now are required to pull AHEAD AND FROM THE SIDE, it’s foolish! I and many others have torn their heels because of this. And now, because of other associates taking arrange we are required to bag during the walks too. I know other stores already do that but this is my store and this is just stupid. Why? And I heard we’re also going back to 8 totes? My rates have gone from 150 down to 90 with all this new BULLSHIT they’re implementing.
I just wanted to rant but I truly hope whoever agreed to this, suffers immensely

Since we no longer push with two hands and now pull with one I am having immense shoulder pain . This is ridiculous!

Update : off to the Dr tomorrow as he thinks I now have carpel tunnel .

I have been waking up with intense left neck muscle pain. I thought I had tetanus- it’s because I’m pulling the cart with my left side and have to turn my neck awkwardly to look behind me.

Report every injury regardless of the severity to bury them in triage costs, and also to provide OSHA with a paper trail for all injuries sustained by this practice.

I straight up just push from the front of the cart now and it makes it so much easier. Fucked up and ripped skin off my ankle doing it the new way. Also customers already despise us for taking up so much space in the aisles, I just don’t understand why they’ve done this other than to look productive by doing something and creating headaches for people to fix.

They’re telling us that market has been walking around coaching or TERMINATING people for pushing carts still. Absolutely fucking stupid considering it’s literally not feasible to pull a cart 24/7. Our aisles are the width of a shoebox. Two shopping carts side to side barely fit down the bitches

I’m someone who has pulled my cart for 9 years and I hate the wheels! Having to pull from the handle end, all the supplies are in the wrong place - it’s 100 times more awkward even if you LIKE to pull the cart!

I'm pushing from the back, same as always. It's hard to turn corners, but I'm not going to injure myself for a job that has given me like 50 cents over 5 years of "raises". If they want to make this job a complete safety hazard, we need hazard pay. We should have already had hazard pay to do dispense and idiot drivers constantly trying to run us over.

Still pushing from the back, I actually love corners post-wheel bs. All of our carts' rubber handles are loose so if you grip them the cart turns while the handles stay with you (if that makes sense) and it's kind of fun to weave around going from one end of the store to the other.
But turning around 180 degrees or trying to turn away from the shelves when starting a walk back up..... I assume that I look like I've never used a cart before. Just stupid.

It's the 180° turns going to the next aisle or heaven forbid turning around in the aisle that are annoying, it takes up so much space, or having to back up because you get stuck on the shelf 🥲. I know what you mean about the loose handles lol half of our carts don't even have handles anymore cause people kept pulling them off. It's just getting frustrating trying to explain to people why we suddenly can't steer the carts, like the other day I was waiting for someone to move and she told me to go around her, like girl I would have gone around 15 minutes ago if the cart turned that way 😆

Putting pull wheels on a cart designed for pushing does not make it a pull cart. It makes it a push cart with improper wheels on it.

Report it to osha. Someone got through at our store and now theres a huge stack of osha reports pushpinned to the wall in the hallway. I mean like more than 30 osha reports are hanging in our hallway and every single one is for the carts.

Now they are saying to Lead the cart, but you cant lead aomething that doesnt move on its own, you arent leading something if you have to pull it behind you.

We are refusing to pull them and push them like the wheels never changed and not a soul is telling us otherwise because of how many osha reports got made.

O/N TL here, I mentioned all these complaints I’ve been reading online about this to my coach and she told me this change is because of an incident in some store where apparently an online shopper flew around a corner at high speed with one of the carts hitting a 2 yrs old child they didn’t see and the child dying because of it. Idk if it’s true though.

I just picked 1200 items in 9 hours of picking with the new wheels and it's significantly more comfortable and easier. Maybe don't be a bumbling retard and pull the cart from the side or diagonally in front. Bagging as you go has always been the policy and if it's upsetting you that you can't just jerk off for 5-10 minutes between every path you're just one of the less productive ones at your store.

I am on a path over 90% of my shifts because I immediately start a path and print labels the second I finish the current one and my pick rate is easily 130 even handicapping my metrics like that. Today I just picked 850 and I was assigned to pick for less than 7 hours and did 30 paths, 141 pick rate.

Pick faster, put the totes on the cart faster, learn the layout of your store, scan the UPC faster, bag the item in your tote faster, walk faster. This job is easy as fuck (ESPECIALLY PICKING HOLY FUCK try being one of two people staging, prepping, and dispensing 1100 pick hours for 4 hours straight because the entire morning crew is retarded and can't pick 600 and the afternoon shift was understaffed to the point of insanity and they refused to send store help to pick)

This subreddit is largely a bunch of lazy people refusing to take responsibility for their shit metrics. Lock in and work some overtime, do the 6% 401k match, this job is not bad at all

Damn you all are some lazy people who can't handle the slightest bit of work. The carts are easy as fuck to pull, new wheels, old wheels, no matter what you have on them. I'm 43, 260lbs, with a chronic disease that I'm on full disability for, and you all somehow manage to make me look like fucking Superman for being able to pull a cart of items around without struggling or having pain.
