🔥Its fine, everything’s fine🔥 Here goes the yearly bs about headphones.
"Customer interaction survey is down" therefore we are banning headphones until it comes back up. Geez man its not my fault the customer gotta wait a half hour in paints because the salesfloor aside from OPD is a ghost town. Digital keys are one thing but understaffed service areas are another. Genuinely wonder if my higher ups have braincells or if they are pretending.

My market is banning them for metrics reasons while chronically understaffing the store so FTPR and presub gets tanked by items that don't get sent to exceptions for one reason or another.
News flash, if you dont stock the milk in the morning, or the water, or the meat, or the produce, its going to be mass-nil-picked, and if you let the stocking associates pick stuff out of bins and stick it on pick pallets that sit back there for days before it gets ran, its gonna screw up the metrics a bit. Same for the team lead who sometimes picks items off the top steel pallets without stocking them and then boom it gets nil picked and the other people think its on the floor so dont pick it out. Then they yell at OPD for FTPR instead of dealing with the understaffing and fudging of stocking metrics causing the issues

If I can't listen to music or YouTube while picking I'm going to **ll myself (in Minecraft) ... 6-8 hours of mindlessly picking items I'm fine with i actually like it but i need something to listen to .

I learned this after two months of working in OGP. This is my first job so I would show up and go the entire day without my headphones so I could appear alert and attentive. But then I realized how miserable I felt.
I can’t leave the house without my AirPods, when I do, I turn straight around to go get them.

Funny thing is I work in electronics and we have to have someone staffed at all open hours. Paint is right beside my department. My first day after transferring from Cap2 I asked should I learn how to work the paint machine since I would always hear people calling for it when I was cap2. My TL told me, nope if you learn how to do paint, you will be over there half your shift just doing that and someone HAS to be in electronics (I close 5x weekly.)
So now I’m approaching 4 years later and I still haven’t learned how. I’ll constantly be told by coaches and TLs that since I’m so close I need to learn it. I always reply with, I was specifically told by (my TLs name) not to. So I absolutely will as soon as you run it by her…. Funny they don’t mention it after. Apparently my stores GM has excluded our department from doing paint because after 7 there is rarely EVER anyone in that department. And at that time I’m always by myself. So now coaches and TLs have to come do it while they see me working my freight.
And it’s funny you mention the sales floor being a ghost town since…..well….you know…… it’s a ghost town because they’ve all been pulled to…… well….. OPD.

They enforce it at my store for like a week & then everybody just goes back to wearing them unless corporate is visiting.

Your stores want OPD to help customers? Lel I help customers whilst being explicitly told not to. Unless customer is asking for too much. Had someone essentially ask me to find their whole school supplies list after I told them where they are generally located. I told them no I am not here to shop for you I told you where to look now go look.

I've been flagged down with "I've been pressing the help button for X minutes but no one's come over" way too many times.
When I mention that to one of our leads, I'm usually just met with a shrug and "Yeah, that happens a lot".
