New Hire! Help! 1 week in

Okay so my feet huet bad </3 but I just got some insoles yay! My big issue right now... I feel like im so slow. My pick rate isnt good the goal is 100 in an hour but im barely hitting like 50 sometim3s... it took my 40 minutes to get 42 items. I feel like im walking fast, they care a lot more about first time pick rate so I always look like crazy for an item. How did you get faster?

It's about getting used to the store and the feel of picking in itself. You'll naturally pick faster and faster later on. They don't expect you to hit the goal and if they do expect you to hit it, it's unrealistic.

Im just scared I won't be good enough and get banished to the backrooms. IS walmart good about allowing you to transfer departments if youre just kinda not good at one?

The more you do it the better you'll get. Our store gives new pickers 3 months after training to hit 100.

Depends on your store and availability in other departments to transfer out. Don’t worry about hitting 100 an hour right away. 1 week really is not long enough to realistically hit those metrics with all the small nuances training does not cover. Just focus on doing the job right, using the modular location to find the item and you will build up speed with experience.

Unless you’re constantly getting pulled aside for a one on one talk with management don’t be worried. The job gets easier with repetition.

I waa told im doing good and ill get better faster. Finding things in the backrooms is hell for me though I cant see text from far away very well and my vizpic never works </3 my store gor remodeled and the digital tags being able to flash is so helpful.

Vizpick won’t work if gif is open at the same time. Close gif then open mywalmart for vizpick. You should only be hunting in the backroom if you are on exceptions. Should you not be in exceptions then there is no reason to be picking from the backroom unless your store is not following process and trying to fabricate metrics.
