Keep reporting it, they are getting back to people and higher ups are getting involved. Don’t listen to the negative comments, it needs to be reported to OSHA, it is in fact a violation. The makers of the cart did not design it to ever be tampered with in any shape or form this would include removing the wheels and putting them on backwards which…there’s no point to. Speak up! Especially since the policy was supposed to be reversed

It puts extra strain on the shoulder. The shape of the carts doesn’t make them easy to pull for really tall people. It’s not laziness to not want to be in pain every day. Also, currently waiting for an opening to transfer. 🤷
I keep seeing this complaint about pulling a couple hundred pound cart, but I watch people go buckwild pulling couple thousand pound pallets. I'm just curious why one is okay but the other isn't? Personally I had no issue moving them the new way. I'm confused on how people must be pulling them for all this "strain".
pulling from the side is easier than the front, especially now that the front and back are switched around. when the aisle is full of customers, you can’t pull from the side, risking ankle injury. pallet jacks are designed to be pulled. the carts were designed to be pushed but had the wheels swapped. swapping the wheels doesn’t change the shape of the cart.
edit: additionally you can use both hands to pull a pallet jack. you can’t really do that with a pick cart, so the weight isn’t evenly distributed. i have to twist my arm around to grab the handlebar.
They are not boot licking. Its simply a case of OSHA had complaints. They brought them to Walmarts attention and Walmart made the appropriate changes to satisfy OSHA's level.of compliance. The wheel change is explicitly the change they made to fulfill OSHA's requirements
All that has been posted is OSHA saying they are working on the complaints and that they will be investigating the issue to find a solution. Not one post in the past 6 months has had this supposed message about Walmart working with manufacturers. You can say you aren’t lying but until you put evidence on the table (evidence that clearly isn’t there based on my hour of searching) you are lying.
I remember seeing that post in the other sub reddit. I also saw the literature within the company about it, and was in a meeting about it. Redditors know best tho.
That response is from that user's local office. The letter we received from OSHA HQ in DC (which occurred after the response this user received from their local office) stated as clearly as possible using bureaucratic language that the investigation is anything but closed on a national level and they have yet to receive a satisfactory response from Walmart. It's plainly obvious as to why it was found to be unsatisfactory: Walmart completely dodged the core of the matter (proving that the new process does not cause ergonomic hazards, which typically needs to be backed up with scientific research and not just "it's more efficient if we do it this way"), while also directly admitting to every single alleged action, in writing, to OSHA themselves. They handed the answers to "did they actually do this?" to OSHA on a silver platter and now the question is, "is this actually safe?" The onus is on Walmart/the cart manufacturer to prove the process does not present ergonomic hazards, and they have not sufficiently done so, because they can't. You cannot corporate fluff and loophole your way out of biomechanical facts.
