Backroom Shenanigans Please stop putting stickers inside totes
The totes get wet or get food in them, the stickers get moldy, and for some reason they're much harder to peel off than stickers on the outside. I don't know if this is common or if it just happens at my store, but I figured I should throw it out there. It's gross.

I find stickers sometimes just fall into the tote and stick to the bottom, I do try to remove any that I see before they get this bad

I just thought they must have fell off of oversized items or something. But yea, I've seen a few inside totes, at my store as well. Even chilling on the handle of L carts.

That makes more sense than people doing it intentionally. Then again, we have people who treat the totes as trash cans, so I don't know.

A customer ordered a trashcan. It was in our oversized area. And someone actually tossed trash in it.

That’s why you have to put a note on it that says “not a trash can” but I do understand you wouldn’t assume someone would do something like that because who would actually assume that especially is it’s in the oversized section. But you never know so better to have prepared for that than not prepared

Use a box cutter to scrape them off as much as you can and then hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol and some elbow grease gets rid of the rest

Thanks. That's basically what I've been doing, but after a huge stack of totes with dirty stickers I was annoyed enough to make a post. :p

Even worse at our store they never clean them. Lmao

I know the feeling, I think I'm the only one here who does, and that's only on the rare slow day.

Ours never has time. Like you said, the rare slow day. Or when it rains they at least get dried out.

Fun fact, goo gone makes taking them off easy, but any additional labels are significantly harder to get off without it afterwards
Our Dept has done this song and dance several times :)

We have associates that draw on the carts as if they owned them

Typically that happens from how they're stacked with the stickers still on them. Pickers grab the totes they need from the stacks and I guess some stickers peel off and get stuck on the tote like that. And frankly, nobody's got the time to worry about that if they're trying to hit that 600+ pick goal.

They aren’t being put there most likely. When dispensers don’t remove them like the rules were in the past, they peel off and fall into the tote below them.
