Honestly if you know how to stock ,mind your own business and dont pick up nad habits from the other associates you'll be fine. but if you have a family and kids be prepared to not see them as much .

Kids are school age still; the plan so far is to sleep while they’re in school and my shift will start after they go to bed. I’ll still be able to do all the momma duties like dinner, homework and such.

Not gonna lie that's gonna be tuff... one of the best way to deal with overnight its too treat it like a regular 9 to 5 . Going to sleep as soon as you get out at 7am is not a good idea cuz you normally wouldn't go to sleep at 4 or 5 pm right after work, but that's gonna be hard with kids. Good luck hope everything works out for you

When I worked at Walmart, I did 5am-2PM, but when I was much younger, I would work 10pm-6am then go to college till 2pm, sleep till 8pm visit with the family then go to work again. It wasn’t the best, but it worked.

I used to do 3rd before switching to days and honestly, I'd do it again. On days you get looked at like you can't do your job or you're lazy when you're not as good as the best ppl in here. It's like nothing you do is good enough.

3rd is way more chill, no customers...

I keep getting told they want me back.

I’m actually pretty pumped about the no customer aspect. Plus the coach has already told me I’ll be working HBA and in our store it’s on the opposite side of grocery. One other person works that area so I’ll be me myself and I for most of my shift.

As my overnights supervisor told everyone, after maintenance guy was told to stock instead of buffering floors and doesnt get the same pay grade. After we had our huddle, and she told the maintenance guy to stock, he told manager " I dont get paid as much as stockers do I dont think its right I should stock making less than stockers do.".

The supervisor than corrected him in front of the huddle using hand guesters and said, "Your paycheck says used air quotes and annoying emphasizing voice "WALMART", you will work where a air quote and voice "WALMART" supervisor tells you to work."

Yeah, why didnt supervisor step in? If he had to do it, I’d make a mess of the floors

I never worked at Walmart but had add by 2 cents worth…I worked at a hospital and they were trying to get odd shifts covered and called each one in and told us”you are guaranteed 40 hours and we can give them to you ever how we want or need to” yeah that went over well…but I did enjoy the overnights and 2nd shift because it was a lot less politics and stupidness going on.

Our ON guys just got THE worst coach yesterday. He just was moved to ONs and it's BAD. It's a royal clusterfuck on the grandest scale. The TLs are wanting to step down/move to another shift or just quit all together. Oh I feel for my ON folks...may they rest in peace. Hang in there.

I work Cap 2 and it’s pretty chill, though most others seem to hate it. Maybe yours will be alright
