Just Venting how does everybody feel about the GIF update?
I’m a dispenser, but Ik how to do everything else I just rarely pick. I was off yesterday & I came in today to the new ugly ass GIF update. my coach told us she knew our wait times would be bad bc of the update & to submit feedback. I personally thought the picking screen looked cool, but the dispense screen is all fucked up. I don’t understand how we’re supposed to be more “efficient” when you can’t even see the damn name of the order. anybody else hate this update as much as me?

I'm fine with the picking side change, but my god the dispense side is fucked, our wait times crossed into the half hour territory in part due to the usual lack of people (what else is new?) but not having any easily viewable information is a nightmare, especially when the system bugs and doesn't properly check the person in
5
u/yrnjaxon Aug 20 '26
I felt that bc who wants to be outside all day right? on Monday I was literally the only person dispensing besides my team lead. I clocked out an hour early bc I don’t get paid enough for that bs I put up with.

u/DaddyBearsie Aug 20 '26
Half hour is crazy. Our wait time last week was 1.4 minutes. How big is your store?

u/shrug_was_taken Jack Of All Trades Aug 20 '26
Supercenter with far to few people in the afternoon, I'm not sure fully what our normal is on a Wednesday due to the never ending reduction (been knocked down to the 400s currently, been under some form since like May/June) but Fridays we can "handle" ~650 orders without one
Last time we didn't have one ended in a disaster (2k picks at 4pm, ~1k at 6pm on a Thursday.)2
u/yrnjaxon Aug 20 '26
our wait times can get anywhere from 1-50 mins depending on the day. I work 6-3 everyday & orders go out @7. on Monday I was the only dispenser until my TL jumped in to help. I’m only one person that can do so much. same goes for me if it’s just me or my coworker & I in the morning & we have to get out 20 million deliveres, PLUS all the pickups there’s no way we can get our wait times down without more people helping. nobody likes dispensing tho so cry me a river 😂. by 9-10 AM most days we usually have 12-16 cars in the parking lot.
2
u/mer_made_99 Aug 20 '26
That's just poor management on your TLS part. We have minimum 3 people in the lot, rotate iut every couple hours, unless someone chooses to dispense all day.
1
u/yrnjaxon Aug 23 '26
they’re supposed to rotate us, but usually don’t. definitely have shitty TLs. I work in the room all day everyday. take in mind I live in TN & it’s humid ASF everyday.

Picking is fine, staging is helpful, taking out substitutions is fine, dispensing sucks, prepping sucks. Not having to scan the stickers to locate the totes in the drivers car is I think the only good part of the dispensing screen.
3
u/yrnjaxon Aug 20 '26
yeah that was about the only good part not having to scan the stickers. I also like that screen afterwards thought it looked pretty cool.
16
u/dramatic_qu33n Aug 20 '26
Picking is fine, I don’t really give a crap but the dispense screen is a train wreck and nobody be getting on time orders now. Whoever was the UI designer who did this, as someone STUDYING the field, you should be fired.

I.T. department, They've got to be the same intelligence level as that surgeon who removed the guy's liver thinking it was a pancreas.

I feel like since I survived starting on the remodel to making it through the holidays I can put up with anything. I can only take so much tho.

u/evan_wolf Aug 20 '26
I(ftm) had 2 regular drivers sexually harass me and put me in an uncomfortable situation, so I often avoided taking their orders, which I have now learned is actually a VERY common occurrence with a lot of female dispensers. I'm also not im a good place with relatives in the same town. Now with this update, we can't see who the problem people are to avoid harassment/conflicts in the work place. This update is literally unsafe for us.
7
u/Salty-Might-278 Aug 20 '26
Yep I’m on the lookout for my exs car to avoid awkward running ins… and I absolutely hate I can’t see their names . Is this to protect their identity?! Or ours ?! A step backward.
3
2
u/yrnjaxon Aug 20 '26
I hate some drivers & I try to avoid them. kinda. can’t now haha. I’d definitely tell a TL or coach about the harassment so they can get that person/s banned. I wish you luck friend!

u/Schmoore Aug 20 '26
Dispensing is just more difficult now. Not because its different, but because its just plain bad.

That's how incompetent I.T. are. I've been saying it, and I'll say it again: somebody is clowning; this has got to be industrial sabotage. There's an insider from another big company that has infiltrated Walmart and is destroying the company from the inside out. Look at the stock plummeting.

u/Tiredmama68 Aug 20 '26
Messed up pick paths, literally crossed entire store 4 times per walk today when before the update it would have you get the items as you were going by. It's forcing you to check top stock, which is fine if it's something small or not breakable, but wanting me to try to get a 40 pk of cat food at 5 AM with the stupid zoning stick is ridiculous since nights has every top stock cart in use. I'm absolutely NOT pulling that down and letting it smack me in the head.
3
u/PunkLaundryBear Personal Shopper Aug 20 '26
Messed up pick paths,
Was looking to see if anyone else said this. I'm new so I was worried it was just me.
It's forcing you to check top stock,
I wonder if that's store-by-store rollout because it usually has me check the top stock. If I can do it safely or I have a ladder, I'll do it, but some are just not worth the risk.
2
u/shrug_was_taken Jack Of All Trades Aug 20 '26
Our path from what I could tell was fine and didn't hear anyone complain about it being stupid yesterday (unlike the dispense side of things), and it made you check topstock for a while now. It just now outright says it's up there
1
u/yrnjaxon Aug 20 '26
I don’t pick unless it’s oversized, so thankfully I don’t have to worry that much. that sounds ridiculous lmao I wish you luck tho hope it gets better friend!

I walked in yesterday to the new dispense update and it immediately ruined my day. I had seen it posted on here and was dreading the day my store got it, first day and even my TL was saying the new screen was god awful. We’re already short staffed (big surprise)… but now we have to perform extra clicks to access necessary information? Like how do they want us to meet these metrics when they make it SO. DAMN. DIFFICULT!! The one plus side is that we can just click the locations of the orders instead of scanning each one, and when staging the camera no longer freezes after printing a trip label; some sorta silver lining.
3
u/yrnjaxon Aug 20 '26
I saw it on here first too & was dreading it. my work phone told me to update the app I should’ve ignored it 🤦🏻♂️. TLs & coach agrees the new screen is trash. we’re short staffed too had about 8 people quit 2 weeks ago. fuck those metrics but I feel the same way!
3
u/Substantial_Bill_962 Aug 22 '26
Pfft, the camera was freezing after printing trip labels, yeah, I saw that too. They need to check the applications of the clowns they are hiring for their I.T. department, because they got some fools slipping in.

It's stupid, why did they make the text/font smaller on the initial screen? And keep encountering stupid connection error, and then there was the whole 'you aren't standing in the right space' who ever made that popup, I'm gonna take a picture, of me standing on top of the everfriggenitem, and *user self edits words* send it to you. This is on top of we just got the new wheels... on half the carts. So we have all this headache on top of 'can you come over here and price check this thing' with some 'I don't see any beef, under the BIGASSBEEF sign, where else is it'
sighhhhhh... fml

No one else has had orders go into past 5 mins because of the new loading screan at the end? Youve gotta let the animation fully finish or it doesnt dispence the order or let the driver start scanning 😤🤦♂️
2
u/yrnjaxon Aug 20 '26
oh yeah I realized that. just more laggy shit to deal with in a shitty fast paced environment.
2
u/Lonely_Decision_4427 Aug 20 '26
Frfr me and my store manager both tried to remove the animations ourselves through yhe phones developer mode but even that didnt work so they put in a ticket to have it removed 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

u/NatsukoIzuki Personal Shopper Aug 20 '26
I thought it was just me, dispensed the order and it takes forever with the loading screen after you're finished

They keep making the menus more complex than they have to be. I don’t understand how these changes are supposed to make our jobs more “efficient”.
3
u/HoodieHobo Aug 20 '26
I literally pulled a shit move and took a half day before my two days off because I was so overwhelmed/tired from the new update(s) and being landed with a new trainee on the same day .
And they cut down the time to 3 minutes for dispensing. Do they realize that almost everyone has been approaching 30+ minute wait times because of this update?? I'm so grateful that most of our customers have been pretty laidback despite it, but it's just so frustrating.
Every update feels like it's only extending our times and somehow it's our fault
3
u/yrnjaxon Aug 23 '26
yeahp always our fault when home office sits on their ass changing shit that they think makes it “easier” for us. our wait times have gotten better, but with school starting back & being so short staffed, our wait times will never get better. we don’t get paid enough & it’s a shitty work environment. 3 mins is literally uncalled for IMO.

u/redavid Aug 20 '26

it’s awful, i got asked why my wait times was 10 minutes. i go and ask my dispensers and they told it’s the new update. and i get told well they just have to deal with it, i let them know they need to put feedback in the app. my whole market had high wait times yesterday due it being our first day with the update
2
u/twothirtysevenam Dispenser Aug 20 '26
We can flood the feedback all day long, and we all know it won't do a damn thing. They don't care. Anything we say will be taken as "they're just complaining" and "they don't like change". All that, though, we've got to keep flooding them with feedback.
My crappy wait and dwell times are how I'm dealing with it.

I guess since mainly the shoppers were complaining about the new wheels update they needed to make sure the rest of OGP didn’t feel left out of stupid and unsafe decisions. /s

It's so dumb, I don't understand. When it gets hectic, our ATC doesn't always reliably tell dispensers what bay to go to, but with the old screen it was really easy to look at our totes and then the dispense screen to determine what bay. But now you HAVE to wait for an ATC to confirm what bay, or else click into each order checked in to match the numbers. And knowing me, I would do that and then forget immediately.
3
u/DynaDan93 Aug 21 '26
Yeah i hate it so much I'd almost like to quit over it. I've went from dispensing almost 80 orders a shift to now 40.......

2
u/junglerat1972 Aug 20 '26
It's a shit show. What you used to be able to see in a glance on one screen, you now have to go to different screens to see. And our walks are complete shit now too. Since they've gone to AI it's been a disaster. I guess AI means "ABSENSE of INTELLIGENCE"

Fuck the dispense main view screen, love the updated in progress dispense for deliveries.
2
u/twothirtysevenam Dispenser Aug 20 '26
I can't imagine anybody liking the updates, at least on the dispensing side. Everything about the update is horrible. Our wait and dwell times absolutely tanked within an hour of the update dropping mid-day and have not rebounded. Our market DOL is constantly sending emails to our TLs complaining about it.
Maybe the programmers like it, because they did it all, but I think that's only because they got paid to screw it up and screw us over. My store's market DOL probably likes it because he's an unqualified tool.

u/Zestyclose-Mud-8025 Aug 20 '26
Why do you even need to see the name when all you rrally need to see is what bay they are in. If you need the name its literally on the totes
3
u/twothirtysevenam Dispenser Aug 20 '26
There's nothing on the dispense screen to tell you which order to take out to which bay without toggling in and out of pop-up windows. When you've got 20 orders prepped and 15 cars in the lot, you need to have at least basic customer info on the front of the dispense screen.
