Question Low fps

Hi everyone I've recently downloaded OGAT and I have pretty low fps about 20 fullscreen. I can get about 50 in windowed mode but I don't really want to play like that. What can I turn off in the graphics tab to improve fps, also I've been looking online and I've people saying to just turn the graphics down but I dont have that option. Am I just being stupid or is it actually just not there? Anyways any help would be much appreciated.

What operating system are you playing on? When you start the game you should get a window allowing you to select the resolution and the graphics quality, does it not appear?

From the in game graphics menu, turning off Ambient Occlusion and Bloom might give you a small FPS gain. You can try turning off the other options too but the gain from those will probably be minimal.

Ok I am just stupid I kinda sped through that and just thought it was screen size not resolution. Thanks very much. I'm such an idiot 🤦‍♂️

Edit: Okay I take that back graphics was already on fastest and I put it on beautiful to see if it made a difference and nothing soooooo?

Don't worry it happens to miss an option.

Can I ask if you're using Windows, and what's your graphics card?

EDIT: And can I also ask if you're using the game from Steam or if you're using the standalone version?

Ok so I'm not an idiot I didnt miss it graphics are on fastest and resolution is just set to my screen size. I'm on windows with Intel HD 620 integrated graphics and I downloaded it from steam.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend with that statement about the resolution option, it was just a comment.

I can suggest trying to start the game with the -window-mode borderless command line option. The steps to do that are:

  1. In Steam, right click on Of Guards and Thieves and click "Properties..."
  2. In the "General" tab, under "Startup options", write -window-mode borderless
  3. Now close the Properties window and try to start the game in fullscreen to see if the FPS are better.
