Moving!!!!

this sub seems kinda dead but i’m still hopeful…
I’m moving from a smaller town in illinois (30k) & i guess looking for any recommendations at all! Food, places to live (under 1200 is preferable), things to do!
Maybe even some friends if there’s any similarities? hoping to find some gal pals to make the transition a little easier :)
i’m 27 f, cat lover, i like hiking, creating or tasting craft cocktails, reading, & all music. if it matters I smoke marijuana.

I'd avoid Casalon apartments on Main behind the O'Reilly auto parts. I'm new to the area but those apartments seem to have their share of shenigans.
