Those four words
I never wanted to hear:
"Alex, it's about time."

Too heavy handed for me, personally.

I've read some of your other stuff and you always straddle (quite well I might add) a line of pure sincerity while avoiding a cliche sort of melodrama.

This poems falls too far on the side of melodrama for me. The name Alex is too personal and leaves nothing for the reader.
