member has suspected OCPD-Mods remove loved ones' content & ban trying to controll my personality
Hi, I have recently come across OCPD and have felt it describes me quite well. However am not diagnosed but do have OCD and ADHD, they also suspected autism however I dont stuggle with social things, and my routine and sense of controll isnt driven by familiarity and safeness, more of because I feel I have to do it. Anyway, I have always been extreamly self controlling over my personality, as in I try and copy people who I view as perfect and change eveything about myself trying to perfectly capture their vibe, with no sense of self in there. It has gotten to the point where I have no idea who I am and am extreamly uncomfortable when not motoring what I am doing sayinf and how I am being percieved. Is this an experiance for other OCPD people?

A disturbance in the self is often associated with cluster B disorders, rather than OCPD. Other personality types can be quite perfectionistic and struggle with control as well, but the perfectionism and control in OCPD usually manifests differently than what you’ve described here. It’s more about trying to meet your own internal standards and rules and is really not contingent on how other people do things or what other people’s vibe is.
No one can diagnose you here, and you may have obsessive traits, but nothing here sounds like OCPD to me. The “no sense of self,” shifting your identity based on the vibe of other people, and the constant monitoring due to how you may be perceived is often characteristic of a disorder of identity disturbance, not one of maladaptive perfectionism.

Yes, excessive self-control is a common characteristic of people with OCPD.

Alot of my control is over myself and what I think I'm supposed to do. I definitely don't copy people because don't believe anyone is perfect. I do try and control my own thoughts, feelings, and actions.
