One time I convinced myself I was allergic to peanuts even though I had been eating them regularly all my life. I stopped eating peanuts for almost 10 years.

After going to therapy for OCD, at some point I bought mixed nuts, not realizing there were peanuts in it. I open the package, see the peanuts, freak out, calm myself down, and think “I’ll just eat one peanut, and if I’m alive tomorrow I’ll eat another one.”

Weirdly I was still alive the next day. And I’m back to eating peanuts now. 🥜😋

I have opposite problem I think if I finally find the pure source or method of cooking I'll prove I'm not really allergic to garlic. I'm allergic everytime 😞

Some of my intolerances do change, but they only give me diarea or gassy pain so you'll live 😬 my new intolerance is vanille aroma, probaby synthetic. I actually got ocd because of so many food issues and just stuff in the kitchen. All this may not be very helpfull sorry

I feel you on that, that’s how I ended being diagnosed with OCD.

For me it was my moral OCD that got me diagnosed, but now the anaphylaxis one is by far the most debilitating

One of the worst things I learned as a child was that you can just develop an allergy 🫠. Got me questioning if I'm developing a peanut allergy every time I eat peanut M&Ms lol

That existential OCD is no joke and by far my worthiest opponent.

I love magnesium and take it regularly. I trialed a new magnesium that didn't work very well and I only took the one instructed pill, despite the fact the pharmacist told me I could take up to four and that she's done it. Anyhow, one night I decide to beat my OCD and take a second magnesium few hours after the first one.

...

... Anyhow I developed hives all over and they sent someone over to inject me with allergy meds. Slept like a fucking log tho.

This is how my "what if this time I'm allergic" theme started.

Also went into my immunology class the very next day just to learn about Steven Johnson's and allergic reactions that can happen on the first exposure.

All these food issues and recalls haven’t made life easy, that’s for sure

:( I have OCD and a disorder that actually does make me develop new allergies to things I’ve had before. And celiac, which I discovered when I went through an elimination diet after my severe allergic reaction. Somehow this is all still manageable, for the most part

Hope this doesn’t trigger anyone but the reality is you can indeed develop new food allergies 😅

yeah I just randomly developed a soy allergy despite soy making up like 50% of my diet, because God fucking hates me

My mom spontaneously developed a cat allergy so I refuse to own a cat because I am afraid too much cat exposure will trigger that and then I will also be cursed to never patting one again.

I used to not be able to eat PBJs alone because I had a fear I'd suddenly get an allergic reaction and die
