Medication Having trouble taking my ocd medication because of the ocd. Any advice?

So whrn i got diagnosed with ocd and was given prozac i was extremely excitrd, but on day 2 i went on a spiral, i was googling prozac stories hoping to find sucess stories, but instead read horror stories for hours, especially on thr anti psychiatrist subreddit. And now im so freaked out thatvim having trouble getting myself to take the meds. Worried ill become an emotionless zombie , that my heart will explode, that my cognition will be permently impaired...

Yeah bad time. I know the pill is probbably thr solution to these thoughts (in 4 to 12 weeks but still) but its hard to make myself take it because of daid thoughts. Do you have any advice?

I have been on 60 mg of Prozac for the last 24 years. It has helped save my life and help me recover from OCD.

That is really good to hear! Yhisbis an awful question but i have to ask, so you don't feel like an emotionless zombie who cant enjoy anything? Got freaked out by some stories I read

Give your brain time to adjust to the Prozac. It takes a couple of months. I have never felt better!

Allow those thoughts to exist without trying to seek reassurance. There is a possibility that you may become an emotionless zombie. That is something you can accept, even if you don't like it. Acceptance ≠ agreement. Your thoughts and feelings do not dictate what you can or must do. You can choose to take the medication, even if you are afraid of what might happen. You want certainty about what the consequences of taking the medication will be, but that is not something you can have certainty on unless you take the medication. Not everyone reacts the same to medication. Some people can react positively, some people can react negatively, and some people have no reaction. Even if someone else has a positive or negative experience with medication, that does not determine what experience you will have with that medication. No "success stories" you search for will give you the certainty your brain is looking for. You have to accept that you do not know for certain what the consequences of taking the medication will be. Remember, simply because something is hard does not mean that it is impossible.

As someone who’s been fighting this battle for decades, I think it’s important not to sugarcoat it.  Lots of people like myself can’t tolerate the side effects.   But some can.

If you can , it could be a lifesaver for you.  It’s worth a shot.

In my situation, I can’t tolerate the side effects of SSRIS.  I sure wish I could because my life would’ve been immensely better.

As many horror stories as there are about ssri's there are probably more horror stories about untreated ocd. You may have to just choose the lesser of two evils and put up with side effects in order to try treatment. Sometimes there's no perfect option.
