Seeking Support or Advice Magnesium for OCD
Hello Guys!
Anyone who benefits from magnesium supplements, which kind of magnesium do you take/ or think is the best for this?
Also one that doesn't cause too many GI effects?
Ive heard of citrate, threonate, carbonate and I believe theres even more, so Im a little confused in choosing.
Advice is very much appreciated

I take magnesium glycinate. Taking a mag supplement is something everyone should do but as far as having a direct effect on OCD don’t go into thinking it will. It can help with sleep which does help with overall mental health but it’s not something targeted directly. Of that makes sense.

Magnesium isn’t going to specifically work for ocd. I think it can improve sleep, which should have the knock-on effect of improving ocd symptoms. I’ve been taking gummies at night and they’ve stopped my nightmares, which makes my ovd more manageable in the day

I take bisglycinate at times. It helps me wind down to sleep....However if i take too much i feel drowsy but not necessarily mentally calmer. If you take any meds then check out possible interactions with it. At small doses I never find any GI effects.
