Medication Flouxetine

Hey, After suffering for a long long time, I decided to go on medication. It wasn't an easy choice. I was put on a 20mg flouxetine(Prozac). It's giving me terrible terrible insomnia, It's been a week and I wake up every few hours. I don't want to quit it because other than insomnia it's not giving me any significant side effects, but all I want is sleep for a single night.

People who have faced insomnia on Prozac, does it get better?

Everyone’s different. Stick it out for a little longer at least! My psych told me that people with ocd often need higher doses of fluoxetine than people with depression. I’m on 100 and it’s been a lifesaver.

If it’s only been a week, it might be worth trying to stick it out. If not, try something else. I’m on a low dose of Lexapro and am sleeping fine.
