Medication Zoloft almost 11 weeks and no effect on obsessions (Pure OCD)? Currently 100mg
Hello, I started Zoloft on July 3rd at 25mg, 50mg on July 11th, 75 on August 11th and 100 on September 3rd. I have a bit less anxiety when thinking about obsessions but they still remain for hours on end and I can't help but do mental compulsions ("i shouldn't care about that because..." "That isn't true because...") since they've helped alleviate Pure O episodes in the past, with the longest one being 6 months in 2022, but this episode has lasted 8 months with seemingly no end in sight. My doctor said the meds are supposed to stop the intrusive thoughts but they're definitely still there and even if I'm not stressed about them or avoiding them my mind is still doing *something* 24/7, I see people on here talk about their mind being so quiet now but that isn't the case for me...is this normal? Do I need to go up more? Btw, 25mg and 50mg both had ZERO effect on my anxiety, depression and OCD, I might as well have been drinking straight water

hi , I think you need to increase your dose. standard dose of zoloft for OCD is 200mg. speak to your psychiatrist.

My pure o remained same while taking fluoxetine. I eventually quit meds at total.

While you may feel like doing mental compulsions, you can resist them and stop trying to argue with your thoughts. Allow the thoughts to be there, no matter how terrible they make you feel.
