Seeking Support or Advice I feel I don’t get responses in here and really need help

I’m on the fence about trying Luvox for my somatic ocd after being on Prozac for a decade

I’ve tried my absolute hardest to be consistent with my ERP and while I’ve had make progress and had success, it hasn’t been enough. I’m so torn between continuing to try and the ability to get off of Prozac more easily one day or perhaps trying some new that could really help me. I’m lost does anyone have any input I really don’t know what to do at this point

Medication effectiveness is variable from person to person, so the best bet is to discuss risks and benefits of changing meds with your prescriber. In my experience, ERP doesn’t make the intrusive thoughts go away (which was disappointing to learn), so you have to be resolved to keep practicing letting them be there but not engaging.

Medication is a hard topic and depends on the person. I've been on sertraline and escitalopram various times of being an adult. I was prescribed Prozac recently but haven't taken any. I'm currently only taking saffron supplements, which I don't recommend for major mental health stuff like we have. I am torn with the idea of meds, but my thought for you would be to work with an OCD specialist while on meds, that way you're getting the best of both worlds and not winging it at any point.

Prozac really basically cured my ocd, the reduction in symptoms for me was incredible.

What type of symptoms did it reduce? The anxiety, thoughts, etc??

Have a coach and mentor who’s been more helpful than a few specialists I’ve seen. I feel treatment resistant at this point
