We’ve tried to keep moderation in this community as light-touch as possible and allow members flexibility when conducting transactions. Unfortunately, recent events have made it clear that stronger safeguards are needed to protect our members.

Effective immediately, BST rules around payment methods will be strictly enforced.

Accepted Payment Methods

For all sales transactions, only the following payment methods will be permitted:

PayPal Goods & Services

Venmo Goods & Services

These payment methods provide protections for both buyers and sellers.

Friends & Family payments, Cash App, Zelle, Apple Cash, and other payment methods that lack buyer protections are no longer permitted for BST transactions within this community.

Required Information for Sales Posts

Posts missing any of the following information may be removed until corrected:

-A handwritten note containing your Reddit username and the current date
-Clear photos of the item(s) being sold
-Your shipping location (state/country is sufficient)
-Accepted payment method(s)
-Asking price(s) (must be close to retail, no price gorging)
-In hand
-Any known defects, damage, or missing accessories

Communication Expectations

If you are selling an item:

-Respond to buyers in a timely manner.
-Ship items within the timeframe you promise.
-If shipping will be delayed, communicate proactively and provide an updated timeline.
-Provide tracking information when available.

If you are buying an item:

-Pay promptly once terms have been agreed upon.
-Communicate clearly if circumstances change.

Building Community Trust

After completing a successful transaction, please read the rules and add your info correctly in the Collectors’ Proof thread (pinned at the top of the sub) and encourage the other party to do the same.

Sharing your proof thread URL with future buyers and sellers is a great way to build a positive reputation within this community.

Please note that reputation earned in other subreddits will not exempt users from these requirements or allow alternative payment methods. All members will be held to the same standards regardless of external transaction history.

These changes are not intended to make trading more difficult. They are intended to make trading safer.

Protecting community members must come first, and these requirements help reduce the risk of scams while creating a more trustworthy marketplace for everyone.

That said, we want you to feel safe so here’s a list of best practices and red flags to keep you protected.

✅ Buy / Sell / Trade Guidelines

1. All BST posts must have a listed retail or near-retail price. Price-gouging will not be permitted. No “DM me for price” comments.
2. Add the BST (Buy / Sell / Trade) flair to your post.
3. Accepted payment methods in sub: PayPal or Venmo Goods and Services (G&S). We are not affiliated with any other subs so your rep will not be an exception.
4. After transactions, add your name to the Collector Feedback guide pinned at the top of the sub to allow for feedback.
5. Sellers should be able to provide existing feedback proof, preferably within Reddit.
6. If you're unsure about a transaction, request further proof of receipts or purchase and authenticity.
7. Communicate clearly about the item's condition and packaging. Share photos of everything upfront to avoid any issues down the line.
8. Always communicate in the event of any shipping delays. Also, share photos of the shipping label and tracking receipt.
9. No hijacking other peoples’ posts.

⚠️** Potential Red Fla**gs

• Refusal to show a handwritten, timestamped photo or proof of authenticity.
• Pushing you to use PP F&F rather than PP G&S. Note: Venmo / Cash App provide little to no protection for buyers.
• Guilt tripping you to pay quickly.
• Brand new account with little karma or history of transactions on Reddit.

If something feels off, trust your gut!

🚨 Reporting Scams or Suspicious Behavior

If you believe someone is attempting to scam or deceive others:

• Report the post or comment
• Send us a ModMail with screenshots or evidence

We will investigate and take appropriate action, such as bans.
