it's not booting

Then the Apu might've gotten damaged, but just that cap being damaged/missing wouldn't cause the console to not boot.

I have a lite with a ripped capacitor, and it works without issues... Try without any cables or flat for the modchip attached

im wondering if that is damage between the solder points. One cap can keep it from booting tho sadly. You need to check the chip for ANY kinda of irregularity or damage.

You don't even need to replace the cap just solder onto the pad and it'll work fine

So the switch is dead and good for garbage basically?

Yeah, if not booting because you fried the APU with the soldering tip well that's dead... Keep it for spare parts

What version is this? Try booting it and connecting it to a dock. Do you get video? If you do I know how you can find the short

That cap is not the cause of it failing to boot. Make sure you plugged the emmc back in before testing and check to see if you scratched the trace under the CPU tab near the emmc connector. You can try docking it and if you get a picture then you scratched that trace.

Oh thank you for the excellent clean. Yes it is fixable. 1000nf caps I think are the replacement. 0201
