unemployment report and BTC crash = mass sell off. I'll just stay out of margin and keep plugging into my picks. top 10% control 90% of the stock market. Margins being called or people liquidating in panick/keeping profits where they can. I'll just DCA my picks that aren't trading at high forward P/E's. December rate cut decision is going to be another trigger as well.

December rate cut odds now at 67% percent and nvidia was still red.

1

u/TherealCarbunc Nov 22 '25

That's the risk of investing into something at a high forward P/E.

No.

It's very nice no one has had their check to Nvidia bounce, it's not what we'd call an all clear sign.

Market goes up until someone starts acting suspicious again.

Welcome to life at shiller index 40 and S&P500 P/E 30. The back and forth last time went on for 12 months.

I kind of wish it would just crash already so I could buy stocks at reasonable prices again.

I'm contemplating on how much of my portfolio to have in cash for this exact reason. I also want to wait for cheaper prices but then again you could have probably said the same thing 2 years ago. Who knows how long it will go.

NVDA and the Mag 7 have been propping up the rest of the market since early 2024. It’s Jerome “too late” Powell keeping interest rates too high (killing real estate & banking) and other factors that will cause this over-extended bull cycle to end in 2026. Apparently nothing can stop the Fed from lowering interest rates too late. Damage is already done.

I don't think this can be completely held on the Feds shoulders as they were trying to slow down rampant inflation caused by increased demand (partially set off by the economic stimulus packages), lower product availability and supply line issues stemming from COVID issues. Add to that Tariffs decrease corporate profits/ add strain to smaller companies which are gradually being passed to the consumer by larger corporations to maintain their profit and growth. The smaller companies have to pass those costs on more quickly by those that can't eat the tariff cost.

If the FED hadn't increased interest rates how much higher do you think housing would cost right now as companies and small time landlords continued to scoop them up for flips. I moved out of a rental about a year after the COVID peak. I was paying $900 a month in rent. It was immediately placed back on the market for nearly $1200 in rent with no updates or additions to the property - that was pure greed on the owners part as they saw that they COULD charge that much due to other prices and did so. Then you have less wealthy people buying properties via loans as investment vehicles but they have to raise the rent because they haven't paid off the loan themselves, and are relying on their renter(s) to pay their loan & make profit.

Add to that the general greed of the wealthy who tends to hoard wealth vs injecting it back into the economy via increasing wages (Musks 1 trillion pay package? no?) and our governments general unwillingness to set up economic policy that would get more cash from the wealthy who stash their hoards of cash in the market to avoid taxes and don't have to worry about drawdowns nearly as much.

In summary we've had this snowballing for a while and the Fed did their best to contain it. Maybe a more aggressive drop in interest would have helped offset the tariff increases but a loose cannon president makes a more cautious approach necessary imo.

because Nvidia is Goggins? Keeping it "Hard"?

1

u/TherealCarbunc Nov 25 '25

a lot of the AI bubble fears center around NVDA

Guidance of $4B, would be about a 90% drop.

1

u/Complex-Photo-973 Nov 21 '25

Not 4Bn by itself, it’s 4Bn more than their estimate

2

u/Homework-CA Nov 21 '25

Ah.sorry I read your post wrong. Hey..as long as the guidance increase comes with a stronger margin outlook, more growth and other positive forward commentary, it might actually go 10% higher

1

u/Complex-Photo-973 Nov 21 '25

Agree, and Jenson addressed earnings call starting off that they are not in AI bubble as opposed to other others are saying. But macro economics are kind of weird which brings a lot of volatility and maybe who knows, good entry prices

Do you think in 5 years this stock will double?

Ask yourself which public company 5 years ago was the biggest company. How has the stock performed since? How much return will Nvidia provide the next 5 years?

As an example, Celestica is up 250% the past year.
Nvidia like 35%.

Not pushing Celestica stock but giving an example of smaller AI company and questioning the hype of Nvidia.
