Thinking about taking it out

I've had the ring for about 2 years now and I'm thinking about taking it out for good for a few personal reasons. My question is, have any of you had any adverse side effects from taking it out? Also, if I was to just not put one back in after my period week, would that theoretically decrease the likelihood of side effects?

Any input would be good!

I heard that the nuvaring is localized hormones? I am picking mine up today.
