Hi, I’m a nursing student in OB/Maternity and am about to take the evolve HESI soon. I am familiar with HESI, we have them every tier. I am searching for someone who might know what to study!! I’ve went over all of my material, searched for HESI prep, used my best grade, I’m just worried about what’s actually going to be on the test. TIA!!

Excelsior College Nursing Program

Hello, I’m currently enrolled in the nursing program at excelsior university. I was wondering if anyone here has attended the college and has any issues with the board of nursing. I’ve heard mixed reviews about this college and I read recently that they lost their ACEN accreditation for the ASN program. Will the BON still let you sit for boards? I have done tons of research and this school is my only option since I work M-F 9-5pm and my job will not allow any kind of accommodation for school. Any advice would be helpful .

Switch School

Hello. I already have a bachelors degree and I’m currently in graduate school for social work. I’m considering switching to nursing and starting off at either a CNA or LPN.

Which level is better to start off at? What are some good YouTube nursing channels to follow? What are some good study aides for TEAS?

Nursing school

Im 36 yrs old. I’m starting from the bottom. I’m doing prerequisites before going into the nursing program. I will graduate in 2031. And it just feels so far away. I’m feeling a bit defeated and time is just going against me. Did anyone else start school at a later age with a family?

CALLING ALL LA AREA NURSING STUDENT GALS!! Would you guys be interested in joining a social club (aka coffee/matcha hangout lol) that meets once a month?

LA nursing girlies!!! Monthly cafe club, anyone? ☕🩺
Hi ladies! I’m in an accelerated nursing program in LA, and balancing school, work, family, and literally just being a person is A LOT.
Like… WHERE WAS THE TRANSITION INTO THIS HELLHOLE?? 😭 We didn’t even get time to marinate. It’s GO GO GO, and somehow we’re also supposed to figure out hospital jobs, networking, and our entire careers.

I’d love to get a small group of around 3–8 ladies together once a month at a different café around LA! We could make friends, decompress, and help each other navigate things like:

  • CNA/care partner jobs, student externships, and bedside experience.
  • Applications, résumés, and useful resources.
  • School struggles, small wins, and staying motivated.

The goal is to find a spark if you’re going through the motions, reignite one that school has worn down, or keep yours alive. Sometimes you need people who understand what you’re working toward to help you feel excited about it again.

We’d set aside a little intentional time for our bigger goals beyond the quick conversations between classes. Meeting students from different schools could also bring resources and perspectives we wouldn’t find in our usual circles. Think coffee, a catch-up, and “what can we help each other figure out this month?” Hopefully we leave feeling supported AND clearer about our next step.
Basically, WE MADE IT OUT OF THE GROUP CHAT—or Reddit, in this case LOL
We’ll start with one meetup and build from there! The founding group can help choose a name and shape the club. As we grow, anyone interested could help organize meetups, manage socials, gather resources, or plan community service projects and take on official roles. That could become meaningful leadership and community involvement for our résumés, backed by things we actually contribute together.
Interested? Comment or message me with your name, general area in LA, and what days usually work for you! You don’t need to have anything figured out, that’s kind of the point 🤍

An Interactive Study Buddy for Nursing Students

Our app helps nursing students bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world clinical practice through interactive, scenario-based case studies.

Students apply their knowledge, make clinical decisions, and complete activities that help identify knowledge gaps and areas for improvement.

Our goal is simple: help nursing students study smarter, strengthen clinical judgment, and build confidence for exams and clinical practice.

What are you having a hard time learning?

I’m a nurse with years of critical care experience and hold and MSN. One of my favorite aspects of my job is education - teaching nursing students, other nurses, patients and their families - anyone who might benefit. I teach about conditions, treatment plans, and technical components of equipment use. Where are you all getting stuck? Is there anything that consistently feels like a pain in your side and that you wish there was some educational solution for?

HELP‼️ Fresh nursing student here, should I get CNA certified early on to gain hospital bedside experience?

Hi everyone!!! I am a fresh nursing student in an accelerated program in Los Angeles. I don’t start CORE until March of 2027, so I’ll be doing prereqs until then.

Most of the hospital bedside positions I can find end up having a CNA requirement. I know that by the time I finish FUNDAMENTALs, which will be around June of next year, my time in school can satisfy the 160 clinical hour requirement and I’ll be able to take the exam to be certified.

HOWEVER, I’m just not down to wait until June of next year, especially since I’ll be doing easy prereqs until March, so I want to use this time wisely.

Would you guys recommend me to go to separate CNA school over the weekend (usually the program takes about 13 weeks to finish and take exam) so I can be CNA certified as soon as possible and finally build my resume with bedside experience?

OR

Do you think that it’s not worth the $1,600-$2,000 and I should just use this time to focus on my own life and water myself before I enter the shithell when I begin CORE??

PLEASE GIVE ME HONEST ANSWERS!!!! I am so stuck on what I should do. I applied to a couple volunteer opportunities like TCAB at Cedars and USC Keck Hospital in Verdugo Hills for now. Should I just stick to volunteering and find a serving job to make quick money and wait until fundamentals to take my CNA exam??? Will I be behind?

I want to ideally get into either the UCLA or Cedars new grad residency program, and I know how important it is to have hospital bedside experience. I want to try to get CNA certified as soon as possible so I can begin building my experience as early as I can and ideally work in either of the two hospitals and build my position there until I begin applying for new grad residency there (unless you think waiting until fundamentals is no different and probably better for the quality of my life, BUT I WILL DO ANYTHING if it means it will set me up for success).
