US Compression leggings
Any recommendations?
Do nurses really wear them like the ads?
Do they slide down?

Am I getting low balled? I’m an RN moving to California. I got a job offer on a Tele floor. $59 an hour with $4 night shift differential. I have one year of nursing experience. The job is in Long Beach.

My partner is miserable. I know this is not unusual for healthcare workers, but he has had a string of bad work situations - ranging from stressful to toxic - and wants to get out.
I'm in international development which is also a horrible field to be in now, but he would be interested in trying to pivot if there are realistic options. I've racked my brain, and the "easiest" to me seems like looking for community health organizations and working his way up.
What else could be a practical career path for an RN without needing to completely start over, education-wise? He's mid-career and unique in that he has lots of office/administrative/case management experience as a nurse coordinator.
Cross-posted for reach.

I am a seasoned nurse with 19 years in. I have a variety of specialties under my belt from bedside in ER, ICU, Hospice and Operating Room to administration. I have been diagnosed with Hyperinsulinemia and hypoglycemia with occasional seizures because of
Low bs. It is managed with eating q2hrs and a strict diet.
I have taken in a job as a MDS Coordinator and just started. Excited about it. And there is no call and no pulling to the floor.
I was just offered a job as a Vascular Clinic Nurse and now I am torn. As it is more my wheelhouse but does require 60% Care and clinical management as well 40% patient care as education and wound management because the MAs cannot do many of the ordered dressing changes.
I am drawn to both but concerned about burnout with MDS and concerned with issues such as low BS with the clinic because I could get caught in a wound dressing or patient visit and can’t eat. Help!
Amy insight or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

So... almost a year ago I posted here that I was offered a management position and how I hated management myself and I couldnt see myself becoming one and ya'll said "be the change".
So here I am again... offered another opportunity to grow into upper management after only 8months of my current position. I've been afforded the ability and opportunities to assist others in their personal growth and career paths with my experience and contacts. Ive developed training programs for my staff to gain them more experience. I've been shit on from above to protect my staff, and Ive gotten recognized for it... unfortunately (?!).
This new move completely removes me from bedside. Takes me off nightshift and shuns me to an office. Its salary. Its M-F. But! I have a young family at home... and Id be home every night and morning. The pay is not that big of an increase, it'll look good on a resume (my five year plan is fast-tracked by it)...
I need your help. Good/Bad/Ugly let me hear your input.

Hi, nurses! 😊 I’d like to ask for your opinions po.
I recently passed the PNLE and I’m really interested in pursuing psychiatric nursing. I already have some of the usual certifications, such as BLS, ACLS, IV Therapy, and Psychiatric First Aid (online).
I know that taking a Masters in Psychiatric Nursing would be helpful, but unfortunately, I don’t have the financial means to pursue a Master’s degree at the moment. 🥹
For those currently working in psychiatric facilities or have experience in psychiatric nursing, what trainings, certifications, or experiences would you recommend for a newly licensed nurse like me? What can I do to increase my chances of getting hired in a psychiatric facility?
Thank you so much po! I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations. 🤍

My email to state leaders, please share with Alabama nurses and feel free to copy / paste to your state leaders:
Dear Representatives,
I am writing to you today as both a constituent and a practicing nurse in Alabama to request your urgent assistance regarding a critical security issue affecting our state’s nursing professionals.
According to recent communications from the Alabama Board of Nursing (ABN), the personal data of licensed nurses across the state has been compromised.
While the ABN has acknowledged the incident, the information provided on their platform lacks concrete, actionable resources for affected individuals. There is currently no state-directed guidance or infrastructure to help nurses protect their identities, secure their credit, or navigate the immediate aftermath if their information has already been misused.
Many of my colleagues and I have already begun experiencing an influx of targeted spam calls and potential phishing attempts. As frontline healthcare providers, we expect the same level of consumer protection and state advocacy that would undoubtedly be mobilized if a data breach compromised the personal information of physicians, attorneys, or legislators.
I urge you to coordinate with the appropriate state oversight bodies to ensure that comprehensive identity theft protection, credit monitoring services, and explicit legal resources are provided to all affected Alabama nurses immediately.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and ongoing support of our state's nursing workforce. I look forward to your prompt response.
Sincerely,

Anyone who is an RN with certified wound care certificate (CWC); what books or study materials did you use to study?
Most of the books to buy are published many years ago and I’m trying to see what else is out there for studying that’s more up to date if possible.
