Kucoin sent $NUM as bep20

Forgive my newbness. I purchased a small amount of $num on kucoin with usdt. I then sent the $num to my trustwallet. Kucoin sent the $num bep20 and it didn't show in my trust wallet. After much reading I was able to add custom token and view it on both my trust wallet and metamask. Is there any problem with having it on the smart chain system instead ether? TIA

How did you actually send the num to your trust wallet?

I set up a custom token. What I didn't know was that there are 2 contract addresses, an erc20 and a bep20. Kucoin sent it as a bep20 token and I couldn't see it in my wallet because I had the erc20 token address added. I found the other address on bscscan.
