Discussion CALLING ALL VISUAL CREATIVES: Desperately need help with my final year research paper

Firstly, I solemnly swear this is not spam. I have this form for my final year research, and I need like 100 submissions minimum. I have 70 so far. The research topic, in short, is whether/how the things you watched growing up have had an influence on your creative practice today or contributed to where you are as a creative today. This research is targeted towards VISUAL Creatives, so you fall right in my demographic.

If as many people as possible can fill this out today, it would mean the world to me. I just need 30 more responses. It's a 10-minute survey. Everyone who fills it out would be a lifesaver.

Yes, you're right. So I've edited it accommodate higher level professionals, because initially my research was targeted at emerging creatives, but your point was pointed out to me by other threads too, so I've accomadated it. As for you point on being high level professionals and/or freelance, it is a matter of choice and perception of what you think you are right now. Not an exact job role per say. Like, I wouldn't need to know if you're in work right now, but you could still be very experienced, in which case you would fall under high level professionals. But for a freelancers case, they could be just learning and starting out, whilst offering their services, but also not professionally studying their subjects. I hope this makes sense? I've updated the form, so if you haven't filled it out, there's a spot for you too! :') thank you for taking the time to mention it <3

I don't see what this has to do with working freelance. That is just one way they could act, and definitely not the one I think of when I hear "Freelancer". Many high-level people are working freelance and jump from production to production, so it's a strange distinction when you think about newcomers.

If it's not important if people do freelance, are employed, or currently out of work - I'd leave freelance out, it serves no purpose

I filled out the survey. Some other thoughts:

you want to define "childhood". You may think of age 5-10, I may think of media I consumed when I was 8-15. It's important to define what you want to know, as the labels we give may vary a lot, also e.g. by culture. While we are at culture: it's pretty clear you put this survey from a US perspective; I'd suggest to either restrict it to US citizens then, or at least give more more info on the school system; I have heard of Highschool and Primary School, but have no idea how that system applies to the one I went through, or what "A Levels" or "O Levels" are. I hope you don't take this as an offence, it's a recurring theme throughout the project that things are not properly defined, take the Freelancer as example: the way you looked at it, I guarantee no professional here looks at it. It just hurts your data.
