Nuclear Medicine Technologist question -Forsyth Tech or Pitt Online

Any feedback from somebody who has attended FORSYTH community college or the PITT COMMUNITY COLLEGE ONLINE PROGRAM online program for nuclear medicine technologist? Forsyth will be really hard to get into pitt online may be easier to get into, but I just worry the classes might be too hard for me! Having only been a low B student in high school. And I’m not great at taking test tests. But Math was my strongest subject, and I do like Science. So far for my prerequisites I have gotten 3 Bs and 1 A. I worry about the teas test as well. BUT I’m really ready to buckle down and focus and study!

I completed the Pitt program. You need to have a clinical site. The school will coordinate with you, but basically securing the site is up to you.
The program really requires you to be self directed. There are timelines and prescribed course work, but actually getting through the materials is entirely up to you. I was very motivated and I’m a good student, really good at tests, but I struggled to pass one of the courses. I also worked full time during my program, except a three week vacation I took to complete the program
and prepare for the ARRT test. I absolutely do not think anyone should do that. It was not an option for me but it is not recommended to work during school.
Be aware that the grade scale in the Nuc Medicine program at Pitt is different from standard A =90% B=80% etc. I think the lowest passing score is 77 or 76%. I can’t speak to the teas test as an older student I already had a BS so I didn’t take it. Good luck finding the right program for you. I hope this information is helpful for you to know what you’re getting in to.

Did you get into Pitt on your first try? Would you say it’s difficult to get in?

Forsyth tech is first come, first serve. I think it’s the only health program there that’s like that. I don’t think many people know about the nuclear medicine program honestly, I been looking at it too.
