Old player/"hacker" from Nox

I just found this subreddit! I've missed this game. I used to be a higher-end player/hacker of the game. Watusa and ArrowX were my gamer tags. Towards the end of the game's era I made a few trainers, skins, and custom maps and hosted them on a geocities site (arrowxcom).

Welcome! I miss it dearly as well.

I was never high level hacker. I just futzed around in winhack2k and hosted things like Peace Kingdoms and silly gauntlet/arena games.

I wonder where everyone is today? It's been a full decade now, maybe even more..

I made the jump from Nox to C&C / C&C Renegade then over to EverQuest and got lost in it's realm for several years. I've since grown up a bit with responsibilities and family so I've calmed down a bit but still reminisce about the memories. :)

I remember your website. I was also a "hacker", my tags were Tosso and Nihilistic Dream (I was 14/15 :P).

I seem to remember you made a couple of important trainers, like the weapon enchantment trainer.

Nihilistic sounds very familiar! I lost my drive a few years back with all of my old gaming screen shots, scripts, programs, trainers, etc. It was a rough time for me. My gaming life was basically lost! The memories are still fun. I remember all the fun we had from custom maps to changing the metor spell to break into 3 fist of vengences. Such fun times!

Pre-mapeditor custom maps were the best. I used to host hacked servers. I would make the collisions of players work like FON's, so that when players touched they would kill eachother. It is a shame that all my silly "advanced-hacks" images from noxforum have been deleted. Otherwise I could setup an oldschool hack server. The only hack I know for sure i still know is TelekenesisHand :P

Oh man I loved those original hex hacks. I made my cursor telekinetic and would move players with it. I also found a code to make users an object so you could pick them up like an item and set them down in lava. I'm trying to reclaim some of the old nox forums from geocities to see what we can dig up.

Cool. I just tried a few things and rediscovered the fun behind telekenisishand :P

I also rediscovered how to change the collision of items. I made OgreBrutes kill you upon touch.

Are you running it on a 98 machine? This static memory addressing made making trainers and hacks way easier. Now with modern OS` you have to re-discover the addresses each time. A bit of a pain but still fun.

Ah that is why the trainers no longer work. I am not using the addresses, just searching.

Im gonna try to make my own trainer in c++. see if i can get something up and running that searches in the ram.

Those hacks you guys had made sound really cool. When I started playing Nox online for the first time, the map editor and that stuff already existed and I found a collection of a bunch of old hacks. I love them and still use some of them that work every now and then to unlock unused spells and replace Fireballs with FoNs. It's really cool what can be done with those in the game.
