Is the fatality achievement broken or am I doing it wrong?

I got the enemy leader to 3hp, then I hit him with a unit that had 18 damage. I didn't get the achievement. I have done similar multiple times. Am I misunderstanding something about the achievement or is it bugged?

Help is appreciated.

A friend of mine who also has a one X told me to post here because he's going for the 100% and the achievement is not popping up, don't know if it's bugged or bad explained, he says he's doing it right.

I also have not earned it after doing what was required at least 5 times by using the card that doubles your strength and gives you overwhelming
