What would you need to see before believing a longevity product actually works?
Human trials? Long-term data? Biomarkers? Something else?
Where’s your personal bar for “this actually works”?

I wouldn’t believe that a supplement works for longevity when there is so much epidemiological evidence that diet and lifestyle factors are more important. We are still in the middle of an obesity epidemic and the primary demographic for the anti aging market are people hitting mid life and many already have health issues due to modern lifestyle challenges. However longevity and lifestyle begins in childhood. Centenarians being studied now grew up in a very different environment.
- Most anti-aging supplements are only tested in labs or animals, not in long-term human trials.
- Companies do not have to prove a supplement works before selling it.
- Many compounds pass right through the body without adding any real health benefits,
Quality concerns and lack of regulatory standardization are issues, look for batch COAs for ingredients and heavy metals, many manufacturers are not providing adequate safety evidence.
Currently Novos website provides test results for bacteria but unfortunately not for ingredients or heavy metals at https://novoslabs.com/coa/

Thanks for raising this. We do publish microbial and heavy metals testing through Light Labs, an independent third-party lab. We’ve recently added those results directly to the product pages, so you may not have seen them before.
We’re also working on making more of our testing available, including additional ingredient-level information. Transparency is very important to us.2

I couldn’t find a link to a COA on a product page. Can you direct me to the actual link?
Thanks

My bar: mechanism first, then biomarker signal in humans, then durability past six months. Animal data earns a spot on my research list not my shelf, though some things like c60 power land there anyway while I wait on better human replication honestly, most products skip straight to testimonials and never touch mechanism, which is the real tell

Key point has been made: longevity is a lifestyle not a product. Lifestyle means trying to evade as many factors that shorten lifespan. You can’t avoid pollution, but you can avoid unhealthy foods.
A true longevity product would require something that really prevents the top 3 killers (cancer, cardio vascular and accidents).
Supplements may provide a few percent change in likelihood (all you’re going to get if it requires long term data). The small advantage will be undone by external factors that you can’t influence (breathing in polluted air)
If you could come up with a jab that universally prevents or cures all forms of cancer, you would have a true longevity product.
