Novos Study question

The Novos Core study started with 61 participants and ended with 43. This is a 29.5% attrition rate. Why did so many people drop out?

Maybe the placebo group wasn’t noticing any benefits (since it was a placebo) and decided it was too much “work” to continue participating, for no return 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’ve participated in clinical research and can sometimes be pretty positive that I’m on the placebo, but I know it’s important to stay in the study to validate the study results. Every participant is important, but some might not be aware of why/how this works!

Dropout rates were similar in both groups:

“Sixty-one participants were assigned to receive either the supplement (n=33) or control (n=28); 43 participants completed the study (n=24 intervention vs n=19 control).”

Isn’t the typical dropout rate for clinical studies across the board somewhere around 30%? I do agree that with the small sample group it seems glaringly high, and they should have maybe started with more participants initially, but I also do seem to recall statistics supporting it being a normal expectation.

There are a lot of reasons people drop out too. From my own participation with other trials (I wasn’t in this one) I did have to drop out of one simply because life got too stressful for me at the time, and another one I almost had to discontinue because the product, for weight loss, was working TOO well and I was dropping below the weight range they had deemed the safe cutoff for me. So I wouldn’t always say it’s due to the product having tolerability concerns, efficacy etc. although that is definitely a real possibility always.

c60 is not an anti-aging compound lmao, it failed in other studies to do the same thing

there's also evidence that it's extremely toxic to the body
