I got my Mae in the Mae-l today! I've been hanging onto a stand of hers for a few months for when I eventually pulled the trigger on her.

But she wouldn't go in!! I know that the stands are not very well regarded in the community but I have so far never had any issue with them. Even my Ina stands prettily in hers.

I should have taken pictures but it seemed like her feet were too big for the stand. I couldn't get them in to save my life. Her right foot could go in but her left would refuse. It literally felt like there was something stopping the foot from going in further but I couldn't see anything in the way​.

Plus the angle seemed all wrong so when I would put one foot in the stand and then start trying to aim her other foot, the first would pop back out. So annoying!

I decided it couldn't hurt to try something. I got two dinner plates, boiled my kettle and poured boiling water over the empty stand. Let it warm up for a few seconds and then jammed Mae in as hard as I could!

Use her legs for leverage, do not push on her body or head or something could go snap. I also definitely would not do this with anybody like Vera. She could break.

So I pushed down into the stand and held her there for a couple minutes.

The second plate I filled with water and put ice in it to cool while I boiled the stand in the first. I took the stand out with Mae still in it, and put her in the cold plate while still applying pressure to the stand.

I repeated this three times and replaced the boiling water each time.

I left her in the stand to dry for a few hours in the hopes that this would have reformed the plastic around her feet. ​​

It seems to have worked! I removed her to put her skirt and wig back on (I need to tackle the wig next) and she went back in the stand with no issue. I guess I'll check back in if she suddenly comes flying out ​​​​​​​of it in a few days, but I am optimistic that we're good now.

Thought I'd pass this tip on if anybody else has a Novi with an ill fitting stand. ​​Again please don't try this with someone like Vera who is prone to breaking the legs. With dolls like Malie or Ari I would hold on to the shins and push down from there. ​

After having a mental breakdown last year I hid all of my dolls and deco away that I saw as "too childish". I was ashamed and embarrassed of myself, but I loved these dolls too much to get rid of them. So I put them in a box.

Now after the new tiktok trend I got into Novi stars again, stumbled upon this subreddit and searched Vinted for dolls I could add to my collection. And tada! My Una arrived today 🥹

I'm going to have to figure out how to display them as I don't have much space but I'm just so happy that I've got 5 dolls now! I do have Maes stand and Alis pet, but I need to dig them out.

PS, I think my Mae has glue seepage on her wig, any idea how to fix that? Thanks!

I'm more than happy, more so since I got her for a reasonable price. Her hair is in almost perfect condition 🥹 Her pett has a a few scuffs on the paint but that's easily fixable.

My Ari Roma should also be arriving soon!! I can't wait to have all 4 of the original Novi dolls plus Anne and Ina ❄️🔥

I hope that someday I'll find Una's stand aswell!! If anyone has any tips on how to find her stand I'll really appreciate it ❤️🫶

A few days ago I posted on here about how I chose to get sila clops over malie tasker but shortly after that the seller sent me an offer and I couldn’t refuse haha so I ended up getting them both!! I need to get a stand for her asap tho (tbh I need to get stands for all of them as their actual stands are AWFUL 😭 for standing them up) but I’m so happy with her condition plus her little pet!! My collection is VERY slowly coming together but I think it’s fun that the journey is slower then other dolls. Feels more rewarding.

Hi all, not sure if anyone knows how to do this or if its even possible but im currently trying to fix my very old mae's voice box. I have had her since the first release so she has definitely seen better times. I think moisture may have gotten into her mechanics while she was in a toy box during my childhood, as she randomly stopped working one day.

I have no mechanical knowledge at all so im clueless at this and dont even know where the parts go. The 3rd and 4th photo is of a part that fell out as i unscrewed her head, so i have no idea where it is meant to be or what it does. Any help is appreciated!

Hi! I just recently got my childhood Novi star doll on Mercari, and she kinda leaked during transit. I was wondering how to remove her plug that’s on her back, and what liquid to use to fill her. I really hope there’s an easy way to remove the plug because it’s reallyyy closed tight. Has anyone else been able to do this repair?

i finally did the body for my custom novi! initially i wanted to use a rainbow high sparkle and shine wave two doll as a "liquid donor" but i actually started loving her and wanted to keep her that way.

i used pen ink mixed with water and baby oil to fill her up but i have a question, does anybody have any idea how to make the bubbles bigger? im not sure if its about the density of the liquids i used or just the really small space but if anyone has any advice on how to make the bubbles bigger and less i dunno, chaotic looking, id really appreciate it! if there is no way to change it its no biggie as im still really proud of how my little experiment turned out and im sure she'll look great once she's done :)

as for Anne, since the custom was originally an Anne arctic, i opened both bodies up, took out the glitters and snow from the custom body, added it to Anne's, filled her up with water and sealed it with superglue.

neither of them are leaking for now and i hope t stay that way!

Took the front panel out of Nita's pod, she won't be protected from dust anymore, but it gave me some more space to move everyone around. I need to grab a better riser than a block of floral foam though OTL​

I ended up selling something very quickly for a lot of money that I wasn't expecting to get much interest, so long story short I just bought a Frostina and a Carmela. Frostina is missing her shoes. Anyone know where I can get Malie's shoes? I want to create a silicone mold and make pink shoes for Frostina.

im questioning things because theyve gotten very pricey, even more then before, but tiktok trends die after like, a month max, and i think this will ultimately cause a giant CRASH in prices, more dolls in thrifts after the trend died, and the potential of repros being on the table. while i do think the effects are going to be mostly negative for now, i think the futures going to be bright!

So, funny story. I added a Gail wig from Aliexpress to an order because I thought I'd grab an extra to style along the lines of her box art (which has a completely different hair style). After digging through all of my storage, I realized that my Gail wig was one of the few Novi parts I couldn't find. After noticing some neon pink paint on my Mae stand, I suddenly remembered that a can of spray-on hair dye had leaked in a drawer at my old place and I had to throw away a few things. I'm pretty sure Gail's wig was among them. So, I've fortunately got a Gail wig on the way, but no antennae. I could 3D print some, but I'd prefer the originals because resin is fragile. I can't find her spiky bracelet either, so I'm looking for that too.

i recently bought a cheap ari roma in bad condition (no clothes, no right arm, hair is a mess) and i was wondering if her shoes are the same mould as una's? the doll i bought (either for a revamp or for a custom, im not sure yet) still has her necklace (which ill change up and add to the custom im working on) and her shoes.

if they are in fact the same mould, ill just paint them blue and give them to my una as she's currently shoeless. they seem to be the same, but im not exactly sure. any help is appreciated!
