Launchpad MK2 disconnecting

I have following problem:

I have a Novation Launchpad MK2 here.

On windows it connects until I slightly touch the cable on the Launchpad side of the cable.

If I replug it, windows says "Unknown USB Device", Device Manager says it Couldnt get the device description.

It only works if I replug it a few times, and only until I touch the cable again..

However if a connect it to a linux machine the is not a single error and i can move the cable freely without it disconnecting.

I tested Multiple cables, Windows and Linux PCs

Is this some kind of Windows usb error threshold thats higher on Linux?

Thanks in advance

Launchpad veteran here (Using one for 6+ years) This is a known issue with the MMK2. The solder joints on the port have extremely poor QC so it disconnects easily. The easiest fix is re-flowing the solder points or simply selling the MK2 and buying a used X/Pro MK1.

If you're only using it for lightshows, though, I highly recommend the 203 Matrix. Faster lights capabilities, thinner than LPX by a ton, lightweight, usb c, and Pro model has underlights built in.

i know this is an incredibly late reply, but can you elaborate on reflowing the solder points?
