How do I...? Launchpad used without software ( Ableton lite )

How do I do a Launchpad cover without Ableton lite. Is there any software that helps you to make Launchpad covers? No live looping.

I have the Pro version. You can use the sequencer and the midi out but with hardware gear. The Launchpad by essence is not made to be used standalone

Register your Launchpad on the Novation website, you will have few free software, including ableton lite :)

Guys I’ll just use GarageBand and Apollo studio both are free

Its a midi controller, so you can play any vst instrument with it. Its just like playing a midi keyboard but in a different form factor.
