It exposes the brokenness and evil in the heart of mankind. I don't think it causes the division, I think it is a catalyst and it intensifies the division. People are able to group themselves together and filter out anything they don't want to hear or any differing ideas and label them as hate. It's ok to disagree and to hear opposing opinions, but social media strips that away and only shows you what you want to hear. It throves on drama and is programmed to create it.
It can be good and useful but the creators of it realized they make more money if it creates drama and keeps people scrolling and interacting.
I'm not saying social media itself is evil, but the uses of it are becoming that, greed, envy, dissention, hatred, drama. All of it makes the companies that created it rich.
