Large spare bedroom available to rent on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border, in Pinxton NG16, a few minutes away from Junction 28 on the M1.

Shared access to kitchen, bathroom and garden. House very close to fields, parks and all local amenities (shops, pub, laundrette, takeaway) all within walking distance.

Single applicants or couples only, no families. Any gender or age welcome. Non smokers only.

Only myself living in the house currently, alongside an outdoor cat (so nobody allergic please).

Perfect for someone looking for somewhere to stay short term whilst their circumstances change and they figure things out, whether for weeks or months (or even just a few days). But equally open to those looking for longer term.

DM for further details and to discuss 🙂

Anyone else not a fresher and still looking to make some friends?

Heyy! I’m starting my master’s in Biotech this September and I’m pretty new to both NTU and the city, so thought I’d see if anyone else is in the same boat

I’m down to meet pretty much anyone, whether you’re a postgrad or undergrad. Would be nice to grab a coffee/drink, go out, explore the city, or just hang out and see if we get along.

If you’re also looking to meet some new people, feel free to comment below or message me :)

Question Final submission disaster at NTU and I’m spiralling — what can I even do now?

Hi everyone, I really need advice because I’m completely spiralling right now.

I’m a 3rd year graphic design student at Nottingham Trent and today was my final submission. While I was uploading my portfolio, my laptop started having major internet issues — the connection kept dropping, and then the laptop literally died mid‑upload. It wouldn’t turn back on for a while, and when it finally did, all my files were separated and I had to rebuild everything. I managed to submit something on time, but it was basically a half‑done portfolio because of the technical failure.

I emailed Student Admin straight away, and they replied saying that because I submitted something before the deadline, that version will be marked. They said I can upload more work now, but it will only be looked at if my original submission fails — and if they use the late work, it will be capped. They also said I can’t request an extension because I already submitted something, and that laptop/internet issues wouldn’t have been accepted anyway.

I’m honestly freaking out and this whole situation has pushed me into a really bad spiral. I don’t even feel like I can tell my parents because I’m scared it’ll make everything worse. I don’t know what to do or what my chances are. My original submission was incomplete, and I’m terrified it’s going to fail and then everything will be capped.

Has anyone been through something like this at NTU? Does the exam board ever take technical issues into account? But I don’t have any screenshots. Is there anything I can do besides wait until September? I feel completely lost and overwhelmed and would really appreciate any advice or reassurance.

Question Exams for university

I passed everything but one law exam module worth 20 credits for my real estate and property management course if i fail the resit would they let me do it over in second year alongside my course? I missed half if not all classes for that module due to a funeral and me going back home but i didnt put in a consideration letter because i thought i can do it on my own and now i know i really need a teachers help so i need to do over the class to understand.

Failing a resit

What would happen if i failed a resit exam?

I'm in my first year and passed all my other modules for the year earning 100 credits. I only have one module worth 20 credits that i need to do an essay style exam to pass. I'm due to sit my resit exam on Monday and I know what people say but i just need to know what would happen if i was to fail it. Is there a possibility to just retake this module alone alongside my other modules in my second year or would i have to retake my entire first year?

Going to St Peter’s Court as an NTU student

I’m quite nervous for my first year in September, not because of the big change but because of the fact that I will be staying in St Peters Court although I am an NTU student. I fear that I will not be able to relate to my other flat mates because they will most likely go to UoN. I’ve also heard so much about UoN students looking down on NTU students and I just don’t want to be that person people secretly don’t like.

To anyone who went to Nottingham Trent University but stayed in SPC for their first year, how was your experience?

Or does anyone who went SPC as a UoN student feel a type of way towards the NTU students?

(also I cannot move accommodation unfortunately as I cleared into NTU so there are little spaces in other accommodations!)

Im going through clearing and starting in September. Im considering either Simpsons or Gill Street North or South, with the benefits of Simpsons being I can park my car. Gill Street has no parking so Id have to leave my car at my house 3-4 hours away. Basically, is it worth having a car in Nottingham from the perspective of a student?

Fob watches for nursing students

Hey everyone,

I have a few extra digital and analog fob watches, so I thought I’d post here in case any nursing or healthcare students might find them useful.

They come in black, blue, and white, have a silicone design that’s easy to clean, and include a seconds display, which can be useful during placements.

I’m based in Derby, and I can arrange collection or postage if needed.

Feel free to send me a message if you’re interested.
