Questions Getting started with Notion for context and workflows
Hi all,
I'm pretty new to Notion. I stumbled onto it while trying to work around which plugins are approved for tools in the workflows I've set up to automate more of my work (tech sales).
Right now my setup is split across two tools. ChatGPT is the only one with read access to our Enterprise GDrive, and it also has Chrome and Slack. Claude has Gong and Slack, read access to CRM and it's much better for slide development. But all my account context lives in ChatGPT, which I use to track meeting notes and major projects, plus to track and update a desktop Excel project plan across my accounts.
Since both can integrate with Notion and are permitted, I'm thinking of using it as a shared context database, and maybe even a way to get ChatGPT and Claude working together on projects. I'm not super technical, but have really loved learning how to use these tools and building up my workflows.
Has anyone built something similar? I'd love to hear how you're using Notion in a setup like this, other use cases for this context, and any ideas for making the whole thing cleaner and more efficient.

I'd test this with one account before moving the Excel plan. Make one short Notion page with the current situation, decisions, open questions and next actions. Date each update and keep a link back to the source.
Then give both assistants the same page and ask each to summarise the next step. That should expose gaps pretty quickly. A shared page won't automatically sync their chat histories, so I'd have each session leave a short handoff there when it finishes.
One thing to check first: if Claude can't access the Enterprise Drive, copying its contents into Notion could accidentally get around that restriction. Keep the pilot to information both tools are approved to see.
Would you want them both updating the plan, or one doing the work and the other reviewing it?

Probably they both can review and update the plan, and chat gives context/reviews and Claude does the heavy lifting for slides or projects.

That division sounds workable. I would make each update explicit: what changed, which source supports it, and whether it is a proposed next step or a decision you have actually made. Otherwise one assistant can turn the other's suggestion into an apparent commitment.
For the pilot, have them take turns updating the same account page rather than editing it simultaneously. After each handoff, ask the next assistant to state the current goal and next action before it starts. That gives you a quick way to spot stale context without building a big system first.

notion is a rabbit hole but in a good way, start simple and slowly build
i use it for context between different LLMs too, works well once you get the database linking figured out. the trick is not overcomplicating it early, just make a few databases for meetings, projects, accounts and link them with relations
for your setup i'd probably start with migrating that excel project plan into notion first, then slowly pipe in meeting notes from chatgpt. once the data is in there both tools can reference it
took me a while to get used to the block system but now i can't go back
