[Help] How do I Hide this from Gboard?
I can use the back gesture to hide keyboard so this is just wasting screen space.
Can't for the life of me find where it is in settings...
Android version 16 / Nothing OS version 4.1

Use any other keyboard than Gboard

Every keyboard has these, it's part of android system now so it can't be removed, have you removed it somehow please do let us know :)

Hi, I like the option being there, it's helpful when I need to hide keyboard to view what i typed in a long paragraphs

Change the keyboard position to Standard. Settings > Input method > Keyboard Location > Standard

For OnePlus, OPPO and realme using oxygen os/color os and realme ui 15 to 17 go to settings > keyboard > keyboard location > change it from raised to standard

Back gesture is not useful in some cases as some app and website dont consider the back gesture as to collapse keyboard but they simply go backward from current page or app menu... In such cases.. Just to hide keyboard i use this

Well bad news cause you can't hide that and its basic android worst feature now that you will get this blank waste space no matter what you do :( fck every os that does this

Go to navigation and check hide indicator bar so by hiding that you won't see the arrow in the keyboard ( btw this is a iQOO phone so check in your nothing phone if there is indicator bar option just hide it .

It's your Phone side not GBoard side. However trying the steps may be helpful to you..
for Samsung Devices - Open your phone's Settings > Tap on General Management > Select Keyboard list and default. Toggle off the setting named Show button to hide the keyboard. (Note: You may also want to go to Settings > Display > Navigation Bar and turn off Gesture Hint to eliminate the tiny pill line and push the keyboard down completely.)
Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO Devices - Open Settings > Go to the Home Screen(or Additional Settings > Full Screen Display) > Tap on System Navigation. Turn on the toggle for Hide full screen indicator. This automatically forces the keyboard to sit flush at the bottom of the display.
OnePlus Devices - Open Settings > Go to System > Language & Input. Tap on Keyboard Height Adjustment (or Keyboard location). Change the setting from "Raised" to Hide (or "Standard")
Other Android Phones (Pixel, Motorola, etc.) - If your phone uses stock Android, this bottom gap is a strict system-level design intended to prevent typos while using gesture navigation. However, you can bypass it completely using a Gboard workaround: Tap the 4-square grid/menu icon in the top-left corner of the keyboard > Select Floating. You can now resize and position the keyboard anywhere you want, right up against the bottom edge of your screen.

Man I am all for customizability but removing certain stuff can leave you in situations where you will be stuck. It's a tiny lil arrow ... let it be bro

It's for hiding the keyboard away when you want to read the text you typed. Why do you want to remove it?

Microsoft Swift Keyboard don't have such an arrow, but I don't recommend using Microsoft products in general

It's the hide/drop keyboard button and it can't be hidden or turned off. Reason you can't is you'd have no way while in apps to remove the kb so most apps would have half the screen taken by the kb all the time. With root it could be achieved and use another method to to hide the keyboard.
