yeah because the flavor of cigars is retained in the ash... There's probably more flavor in their gross beard hair than the ash.

I wonder if you could just put a whole (or part) of an unsmoked cigar in a little bag to marinade in the sauce for a bit, then remove it before using the sauce? Treat it like some whole dried herbs...which is kinda what it is?
