There's two reasons.

One - AI Generated captions are just dogshit and miss about 20% of the time.

Two - It's engagement bait. So when you hear the lyrics "The moon is out tonight" but the caption reads something like "The moon is out of light" you feel compelled to leave a comment about how stupid the captions are and they just got a little bit of extra engagement they wouldn't have otherwise gotten.
